Quinta Do Mouro, Tinto, Alentejano

O vinho foi aberto e imediatamente servido (PnP). Corr rubi intenso, fechado, porém com brilho. Lágrimas bem formadas, simétricas e duradouras. Olfato agradável de frutas negras maduras. Notas sobrepostas (com distinção) de fumo de rolo tostado, caixa de cigarros, baunilha, caramelo e com o passar do tempo o aspecto aromático do lácteo (toffee) se manifestou intensamente. Decanted 1,5 hours. Evolved, dark and tasty. Classic Alentejo. Wish I had more. Based on this bottle no need to drink up.

Belle robe rubis foncé très dense pour un vin de cet âge. Le nez est de fruits noirs, cassis et tabac. Belle bouche avec tanins intégrés, fleurs mauves, cassis. Encore jeune et vivra longtemps. Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon

Mmm, this is fine. Dark fruity with a lot going on. Cigar. Wood. Better with food. Tannins are here but not overwhelming. Drink or hold. 90.

Nice.

The wine is deep ruby colour. It smells like black fruit, black cherry, black pepper with charred wood, butter, biscuit and meat. On the pallet it is dry, hic acidity, hi tannins, hi alcohol and full body. Pronounced flavour intensity of black fruit, some apricot, coffee, bread and dried fruit. Long finish.

Good wine, but sort of ripe and generic in the end. Lots of depth, and character, but feels like it could be from many different production areas, both in Portugal and further afield.

Dégusté sur 3 jours, sans faire le vide. Austère et un peu disjoncté le premier jour. Locasse mais très unidimensionnel. Légère évolution le 2e jour, mais toujours étrange... Le troisième jour fut une autre histoire. Plus poli. Plus homogène. Fruité noir. Boisé. Cendré. Végétal. Minéral. Tanins charnus. Acidité rafraîchissante+. Longueur moyenne-longue. Belle palette... Devrait se bonifier dans le temps. Revoir en 2023. 90-91++?

Seductive, open nose shows it maturity with a complex mix of dried plums, herbs, tobacco leaf, licorice and road tar. Palate is juicy with medium-bodied red fruits. Fine, gritty tannins provide bite, persistence and length across the mid and back palate. Tight on opening and singing after 4 hours - should hold for several more years. 92-93 points.

Delicious. BYO to Mazi. Still nice fresh red and black fruits. Really excellent, drinking perfectly. Keep an eye out for more.
