Enticing nose with black fruits. On the palate, the same black fruits with savory notes and notes of lead pencil. This 12 year old BC wine is still tasting amazing.

Decanted and drank immediately. Cork was inky and chunky on the base. Cleaned the inside of the neck and it poured nicely down to the last few tablespoons which had sediment. Blood red in the glass, black in the decanter. Chocolate, cherry and dark fruit on the nose. Some acid on the front, menthol lingers on the back. My kind of wine. My last bottle of this vintage, but if it wasn't, I'd line them up to drink soon.

Three years later and this wine is passably quaffable. Was this worth 10 years post-vintage? Eight years of cellar time? It needs salt and protein. It is more old world than new. Drink up. Some residue in bottle, gently decant in narrow neck vessel.

See previous TN. The wine had the same nose of bramble and dark fruit but on the palate the fruit was almost gone. The wine had a wonderful balance and velvety mouth feel and was a wonderful accompaniment to braised lamb shanks. We really enjoyed the wine but it was clearly not what it had been. I tried to pin point what was left of the fruit but was left with finding only tar and a faint remembrance of what …

There is either some bottle variation or I have not been patient enough in the past, because this is by far the best bottle (2 tonight actually) of Hypothesis I’ve enjoyed to date. Decanted one hour and served with grilled tenderloin with mushroom cream sauce. Slight bricking. Ripe blackberry and cherry with pine, lichen and tobacco. The fruit is soft and supple on the palate and the tannins are plush - feels French? Not overly oaked and the fruit and …

Decanted for about 1 hour. The wine is starting to brick a bit(for me a good thing. I love aged wines). Amazing nose of brambles and dark fruit. Didn't want this part of the tasting to end, just a wonderful forest floor and sweet earth. On the palate the brambles continued and a mélange of other dark fruit. As the evening wore on a soft prune developed. A wonderful mouth feel of velvet. The tannins were soft but framed the …

Started off a little too hot and tannic, but developed beautifully in the glass through dinner. Lovely wine with our grilled rare rib eye. A longer decant next time.

Pretty average. Too much going on and a bit rough around the edges IMO.

Juicy big mouthful. Right off the bat the tannin & acidity are in your face. A little heavy on the oak for my taste. It leaves a burnt taste of scalded chocolate on the palate. Certainly a wine built for distance. Although I'm not sure what it will be when it reaches it's peak. Safe to say this has a few more years to go. The finish lingers, but not overly so. Medium Quality.

Decanted 30 mins. Lovely developing nose of dried cherry and sweet cassis. Tobacco, cedar and vanilla aromas. Medium plus body with refreshing layers of dark red fruits, black licorice, vanilla, and cedar. Fine tannins and good balance. Medium finish. Deserved richer fare than the roast pork tenderloin we had with it.

Merlot dominant. Better structure than expected - graphite edges to the dark fruit and mocha core. Died away quickly however over time and jammed out a bit

Decant this wine, as there is sediment. Opens in about an hour, 20. Tobacco, earth & blackberry - even some gorgonzola-like aromas. After airtime, juicy blackberry & black florals join the party. Nice length & balance – almost a salty/edgy Bordeaux blend with just the merlot here. I appreciate the restraint applied in pursuit of balance. Hold into the mid-twenties - without concern.

There must be some bottle variation here, because I have had this wine twice and both times it was great. Drink or hold another three years.

Medicinal taste, quite bitter, felt like the stem / seeds were added in the marceration process. Nose and taste not pronounced

Finish is very dry and bitter. Lacks fruit and complexity. The wife says Oranges and boiled eggs on the nose if you want a more sophistimacated note.

Bu en succ. Vin corsé et assez tannique mais bien structuré. C'est assez boisé en ce moment, les tannins sont souples et c'est rond. Finale de longueur moyenne. Pour la cave.

Six Nations 2016 : Meaty, redcurrant, blackberry and spice. The palate has plenty of tannin, giving it good structure. The fruit weight is medium and it works in this context to feel balanced. Should be good over the short-medium term.
