kind of bodiless. Brought it to a Thai dinner thinking that a Malbec would be good for spicy food, but it was really quite disappointing.

More fruit forward than the last bottle...less interesting.

Subtle dark fruit. Not much more to note. Okay. (Vineyard Brands/Nappi)

Thursday Night 5 for $5 (The Grapevine - Pocatello, ID) : Red berry, cassis, spice, smoky. Great body, mouth feel and balance.

Tasted Blind. Some stinky cheese initially dominating the nose with some plum coming through as well. Very high sweaty acidity, leather components that carry right to the back of the throat, tannins integrated, fruit not dominant. Very good wine but difficult to describe, mostly secondary components showing through. Wow, great QPR!

Bright, dark fruit with plum, vanilla, with cedar, and fig on the nose. Fairly thick and concentrated, but a one dimensional wine. Smooth tannins, but a short finish. A pleasant Malbec, but several others show more promise in a lower price range. Drink Now

Deep crimson; boysenberries, black cherries, black currants, cedar; soft berry, medium body, decent structure, good balance, ripe tannins, lingering finish. Decanted 1 hr. Good varietal character with some depth and structure. Went well with pork ribs.

Decanter New World Fine Wine Encounter (Landmark Hotel, London, England) : A little eucalyptus, chocolate. Lovely structured palate with fine tannic finish.

Decent bottle of malbec from Argentina. Red violet color in the glass, popped and poured. Not much complexity anywhere here, but the nose is probably the most interesting part. Light to medium body, showing dark red berries, green pepper and some spice on the nose. Palate is very weak, hollow mid palate, not much up front other than fruit, turns a bit tart/hot on the finish. Not recommended.
