Well in balance vs prior bottles/earlier experience. Perhaps just needed time to evolve.

Mother’s Day with burgers Outstanding 15 year old cab franc. No bricking on color, sweet fruit on nose and palate, no herbaceous qualities , smooth long finish Really good with many years ahead.

Is there any other wine that's more consistently delicious? I don't think so. The last of seven bottles opened at a small party, so no detailed notes. However, it most reminded me of Pride Cabernet Francs from 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 (you get the picture). Decadently rich, with just a trace of Cabernet Franc herbaciousness. Terrific nose, mouth feel, and finish. What's not to like?

Garnet in color with a seductive plum aroma, this 2008 showed itself in top form. Vintage after vintage, Pride continues to be among the very best producers of Cab Franc dominated wines in the US and I hope more producers experiment with the varietal.

Drinking wonderfully, with no hint of fading. Good depth, fruit and finish. No hurry.

Great fruit - just a hedonistic pleasure.

Took to a party, so no detailed notes. Very balanced and very rich, albeit with a so-so finish. Not as complex as the 2007 and not as hedonistic as the 2006, it was somewhat generic and nondescript.

Still big and rich. I like it and I've been steering away from these big wines lately. This is full of dark choco, leather and tobacco. Good wine. Could've used a rack of lamb or fatty ribeye rather than pizza.

Strong tannins, rich deep fruit, raisin, smoky leather. Excellent wine

Much better this time around with a decant. On the richer side.

Nice wine, though not profound. Good fruit, but finish underwhelms.

Opened, poured off glass and waited an hour. After two more hours, this wine was wonderful. Drink other two in next two years.

Very hot to start so I really recommend decant and even aerate more to aid in burn off. Dark fruit, earthy and deep red color are expressive as alcohol burn lessens with a decent finish

Pleasant surprise as I generally have not found the Pride 08s to my liking. The Cabs and Merlots have either been over alcoholic or disjointed. This is the best integrated and most balanced of the bunch with lovely red fruits, cigar box, mountain vegetables and flowers.

Drank along side an '10 Miner CabFranc. Wow, this was the big dog in the pack. Incredible expressive nose with layers of fruit, earth and spices. The palate is surprisely balance for this single variatal with rich layers of flavors and one of those lengthy finish that make you want to drank more

Alcohol very upfront on this, masking the fruit and a bit overwhelming. Hoped a few days would soften it, but the alcohol only slightly softened. As another reviewer noted, sort of one dimensional, no secondary nuance.

As Virginia cab francs go, this one was still fairly thin and missing that intensity of flavor. Love cab franc generally and this is just okay - there are better VA cab francs out there.

This wine exemplifies why I stopped buying Pride. 14.9% alcohol overwhelms even the fruit, let alone any other qualities. Though there was a heady nose on this wine out of the bottle, even that blew off, leaving a palate that I found to be one dimensional.
