Description: Garnet colored, with low sediment. Smells like cherry, plum, blackberry and even has a (very slight) fresh/fruity earthy smell to it, but doesn't seem to have an earthy taste: tastes like blackberry, cherry, plum, pomegranate, with a faint hint of pepper. Light/medium body, with a bright and smooth finish; low acidity. Reaction: Extremely enjoyable to drink. Great flavor, balanced with just the right amount of acidity: texture is smooth but not watery, taste is full-flavored but not overwhelming. Would …

Pinkish-burgundy with a hint of ruby; bright; medium-bodied. Sweet earthy aromas (perhaps more earthiness than earlier bottle) with mixed red fruits - pure and very elegant; a little dusty ground black pepper and perhaps some cinnamon. Chewy red fruit flavours - sour cherry with dusty spices. Very fruit driven. Rounded and not unlike a German Spatburgunder. A little mineral too.

Weekly tasting group #213; A fully blind test. (@ AH) : Transparent red. In the bouquet cherries, green herbs and some candy flavors. On the palate red fruits like strawberries, herbs, white pepper, some bell pepper, a touch of sweetness, mild acidity and soft tannin. 85 - 86

Lovely, bright ruby. Light, translucent; hints of raspberry. Nose of strawberries and raspberries with a contested note. White pepper. Typical pinot fruit but not the other typical aromas (earthiness etc.). Lovely, juicy red fruit taste, a good dose of acid and some gentle (not pronounced) earthy notes. A lovely red fruit and sour cherry finish.

There is good intensity and depth of fruit here, with lifting acids to boot. Unfortunately the phenolics ruin this wine for me. Green, prickly tannins intruded without adding any real grip or texture. A bum note of burnt plastic eventually blew off, but the tannins never really integrated. Disappointing.

This has medium-plus nose of cranberries, raspberries, cherries and marzipan, and a rich mushroomy earthiness. On the palate, there is high acidity, and a faint alcoholic burn, but a medium - plus palate of dried cranberries, cherries, and earthiness. The finish is medium. With its emphasis on lighter red fruits, and refreshing acidity, this a versatile and food-friendly wine, and an NZ Pinot in a style to my taste!

Dark berry fruits, nice lift with savory, gamey undertones. Light to medium bodied with firm tannins underpinning a neat structure
