L. et F. Martin Savennières L'Aiglerie

Drinks so much more elegantly than its price tag. Beeswax, chamomile, pear, lime rind, lychee. Medium bodied, I would peg this at med+ acidity. Beautifully long, honey finish with a subtle spice. One of the most interesting wines I've had recently!

This is impressive and a great QPR at around $25. Chenin from Savennieres can be magical stuff and this one performs quite well. Loads of honey aromas and flavors, hints of pear and apricot, with nice crisp acidity to tie it together. I have a second bottle that I’m going to lay down for at least five years, maybe double that. There’s nothing quite like aged Savenniere and this has the stuffing to improve for another decade or more.
