Mixed New World Tasting. All wines tasted blind. No detailed notes. We had the 2007 and 2015 Sena (both rated 92pts). Both wines are quite layered with strong, ripe but not too ripe fruit cores. Beautiful earthy and minerality notes complement the fruit. There are some intriguing olive notes in the 2015, while the 2007 shows first tertiary aromas. Medium garnet. Pronounced nose - dried blackcurrant, prune, cedar, tobacco, smoke, earth. Medium acidity, fine ripe tannins, very well integrated, acidity at 14% did not show at all, long finish. Fully mature but has structure to last. Outstanding. Like others I had problems with the cork but no sign of bret.

So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030 : The award winner - I was excited to drink this, and it did not disappoint. Deep red in the glass, still good tannins, delicious red fruit. Still kicking and great to drink.

2000 vintage

Still very young. Pnp, and it took 2 hours for the wine to unfold. Deep dark color, complex nose. Opulent and ripe dark fruit, dark pepper, espresso, vanilla, some tobacco. Long and velvet finish with some strong but polished tannins. Will hold for many more years and most likely gaining additional layers of complexity.

I very much enjoyed this wine. It was incredibly complex… the nose was an exquisite mix of classic fine Bordeaux with new world richness and opulence. Still energetic and vibrant. Beautiful dark fruit. I did not get much of any Brett like some of the other reviews here. Drinking really well now but can probably keep for at least another 5-8 years.

Poured through Venturi, then open for an hour. Deep ruby purple, with the hint of a clear miniscus at the rim now. Blackcurrant the dominant aroma, with the strong alcohol of earlier tastings in the background. Palate finally showing some complexity, with the cassis having to compete with other flavors. The cork split on removal and when trying to extract the lower portion, it disintegrated into the bottle. Not a promising start. Fortunately the wine was intact and smelled of crisp, cool fruit. Oak elements emerged after an hour or so of being open and it was a wonderful complement to beef filet and a hamburger with bacon jam. Lots of life left for well-kept bottles.

At opening it had a sort of barnyard funk smell which continued in glass and throughout the first night. The wine was good though. The second day the funk smell had disappeared but the wine had declined in quality as some wines do.

A blend of five grapes giving it a Bordeaux style wine. 18 months in new French Oak barrels with features of fresh acidity from tannins, tobacco, dark chocolate, vanilla, and spice notes combined with an elegant pallet and a long finish. Drinking great now!

Red with an orange rim. Shows some brett, plums and a touch of raisin. Deep rich nose but fresh. Good acidity and cassis dominated fruit, again that touch of brett. A bit warm finish. Hard to have a clear opinion, it's rich but it's still not too powerful. Should be able to evolve but drinks very well now.

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 9% Carmenère, 6% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet. Nose is med-light with sweet oak dominating the fruit initially, then fading after 2 hours decant when the fruity smell comes out and it's much better. The Carmenere influence is notable, although it is only 9%. This is reflecting its location, you associate with Aconcagua Valley when you drink it, and the Carmenere helps. Fine Wines SG - Is Seña really that great? (Zoom) : Deep ruby, and somewhat homogeneous. Viscous and highly extracted. Strong rosy feel on the nose, and very ripe cassis. Tannic. high alcohol burn, intense, and very ripe blackberry and cassis, as well as big paprika spice and chocolate, and also lots of grassiness and bell peppers. The fruits are very persistent as well. Great wine!

This was excellent. This wasn't a fruit bomb but had real size and presence in the form of grippy tannins and a nose of tar, smoke, spice and chocolate. I've no idea how long this will age for and judging by the notes on Robertparker.com, neither does anyone else. (The drinking windows have varied enormously from critic to critic.)

First impression is French Bordeaux like. No surprises as it is a blended with almost similar grape types. Tannins still tight and upfront. Took an hour to simmer and it became more rounded without sharp bites. Finish is medium and after an hour it’s distinct Chilean notes of earth, vanilla mixed with tar are ever presence. Go well with meat dishes and I am sure it will hold for few more years.
