Solid effort that is shaping up to be a decent longer term bottle. Dark fruit backbone - mainly blackberry - with coffee notes and some good tannins were quite tasty with homemade pasta bolognese. We have three more bottles and will enjoy spacing them out over the next 3 to 4 years to watch the wine further evolve.

This is tasty, but I'm not sure K Vintners is my thing really. There's some savory notes, and it's undeniably smooth and polished, but I just don't find it that interesting, or complex. It doesn't scratch the Syrah itch for me. I kind of wonder why he's so into Syrah, bc this could be a lot of things. I guess there is a little funk. The acidity seems a little artificial to me.

3 hour decant; black fruit, figs, road tar, freshly brewed espresso...this wine has a lot going on. Some sweet vanilla on the finish as well. A refreshing change from the funky Rocks Syrah I've been drinking lately. Really enjoyable by our entire group, and it was gone too quickly. Drink now with a bit of air - 2035.

Opened, poured, let sit about 1/2hr and followed over the next hour. Almost nothing on the nose; maybe some faint dark fruit. Taste is dark fruit, but very faint; smooth entry and mouthfeel; almost a bit thin, although picks up a small amount of weight over time in the glass. Tannins not an issue; acidity OK. There's just not much to this. Syrah on the label, but no particular syrah profile. Very disappointing. Based on this bottle, drink asap.

Drink now….right out of the bottle there was a lot of citrus notes. Decanted and let breathe for 2+ hours…beautiful silky mouth feel. Eventually blue fruit appeared. Its not as big as one would expect…barley held up to the strip steaks, but extremely elegant. Letting it go too much longer risks being on the other side of the peak…

This bottle required quite a bit of air to open up, and even then was surprisingly muted and acidic/sour. But, even given those negatives, this was a pretty nice bottle, showing a style of syrah that leans a little primal/meaty/funky without actually quite getting there.

Served blind. I was pretty confused but was convinced of this being old world. I called 2010 left bank BDX. Color was a medium ruby with subtle but obvious bricking. Nose showed a lot of damp earth, cigar box, and smelled thick. Palate was big and mouth filling, definitely a good contribution from glycerin. About 30mins of air. Medium garnet with a good amount of bricking. On the nose, olives, red plum, cherry, somewhat integrated oak and some earthiness. On the palate, medium acid and resolved tannin, medium + bodied with good concentration on the mid-palate and a refreshing acidic finish of red fruit. In all very interesting and good QPR. Really needs to breathe. Intense high octane purple and dark blue fruit. Decent nose for a syrah. Still a big wine after 8 years. Quite a mouthful that tempers slightly with time.

I'm not sure what happened here. Two bottles, six years apart, plenty of time to breath, but neither of these really stood out. Still a nice wine, but not as distinct as the blend.

Thinner and lighter than I remember my last bottle a few years ago, but very enjoyable. Still very fruit forward, predominant dark berries, some savory elements but very subtle. Really nice wine.

Black and purple fruit, some blueberries come in later. Black pepper and some smoked game on the end. Long finish. Poured a glass and let it sit for an hour. Would recommend doing that at least that. This is probably its peak, but will still go for a few more years.

Enjoyed with some sort of Asian spicy pork with hoisin sauce and broccoli. The wine held its own despite the spicy adversary. I didn’t wait long enough after opening to drink it. Too cold and not enough oxygenation. But still a great wine with blackberry, blue berry, and some black cherries complemented by earth, cedar, and spice. So sad this is my last bottle. Thankfully, I have a 2015 Deal SD VY waiting a few more years.

Plush dark raspberry and blueberry fruit. Violet and mineral accents. Just a touch of black pepper spice. Extremely smooth tannins and long finish. Give it a 90 minute decant. Nice wine.
