Rubissow-Sargent Merlot Mt. Veeder

This wine is past its prime. Pleasant aromas of herbs and flowers and some oak, too. Although the nose is promising, flavors were flat. Initial tight alcohol flavors which, after some breathing time, give way to subtle floral and herbal notes, some bitter spice, and nice brandied plum. Was o.k. on day one and two. Day three I used the rest for cooking. No tannins and very little acidity.
