This is a tart, bracing wine which has expressive red fruits and plenty of structural complexity. Paired beautifully with rillettes. Not sure this will ever shed its confrontational rigidity so no reason not to drink this now. Truculent, shrill and perversely rewarding.

Decanted 30 minutes. Ripe intense nose with strawberries, roses, light truffle. Palate is medium depth, soft berry fruits with light tannic grip and mild acidity. Well balanced showing sous bois notes and gentle savouryness. Fully mature and drinking ideally now. Drink now-2020.

A solid if not stellar bottle. Dark red fruits, also cranberry on the lean, focused nose. Quite gruff for a vosne, the tannins are sharp and pithy. Some gamey, bloody notes add complexity and interest. Drink now, preferably with game or rustic Burgundian fair.

easy drinking but hasn't the strength or depth to warrant a better score - would drink soonish

This is a solid wine but it is not easy to love. Mature appearance but not tired; the nose is fresh and mineral, fully mature, with notes of undergrowth, white mushroom and a hint of Vosne spice box; the palate is fresh and energetic, slender and lively but really very tannic, seemingly without the weight of fruit to stand up to the firm structural elements; drying finish, light flavours but good length. Needs food and needs drinking sooner rather than …

Tannin dominates. I really enjoy tannins, sweet and ripe, something to get your teeth into. But these tannins are not like that - they are harsh and unripe, leaving a unpleasant note on the aftertaste.

Bright red. Muted nose. Fruit is there but not much, rasberry, cherry, and a bit of spice at the end. Medium length. Should goes well with italian or red sauce seafood. Deservedly a Vosne Romanee but would not bother again with this one after such long aging.

Expressive nose, good Vosne cherry and spices. Quite grippy and firm still and needs more time for the tannins to soften.

Sadly this wine won't go anywhere. Green tannins to me suggests unripe grapes. And the short finish supports this view.

Decanted 45 mins. Paling lightly to rim. Medium intense nose with clear truffle, forest floor notes. Light dark red fruits. Palate quite tight still with firm tannin base. Fruits not really coming through yet. I suspect that there's more fruit immediately post opening or in a few hours time. This wine needs longer to evolve. Drinking 2018-24.

Starts well. Shows ok on the nose but with much promise. Big on the palate, showing red fruits and Vosne spice. Long with some meaty tannins. Left this to decant for three hours. If anything it closed right up in the meantime. By about the 5 hour mark it relaxed and found a silkier texture. I'd leave this another couple of years or maybe a longer decant (or a shorter one!). Seemed to catch it at an in-betweeny phase though …

Dry, earthy and tannic, quite raw and bitter, completely devoid of the bright Pinot Noir fruit and Vosne spice I was hoping for. I really hope this is faulty (brett?) as I have five bottles left, but I am not sure. Not rated. Retaste. On day two it has not deteriorated at all; in fact it has softened and opened up slightly, but at its core it remains raw and stalky, without even a hint of Vosne "fire and velvet" …

Slight signs of evolution towards the rim. Again not much on the nose, spices, red berries. Slightly grainy tannins, bright acidity, good character of fruit, well made. 89-91.

Really very good, deep dark velvet and sweet spices on the nose, medium plus bodied with good complexity and length. Very good example of village vosne

Reasonably deep colour. Nose all mellow, singed sugar, cinnamon and sweet spices. Nothing earthy or fruity. Palate low in both acidity and tannin so not especially refreshing. Unusual but overall a good effort. Perhaps unlikely to improve further.

- Ruby color with medium forming legs. It's somewhat balanced with a light/medium body. Round texture with a short finish.

After 2h open, wonderful full fruit, aromatic nose, hint of roughness to the tannins but overall drinking well. Will last longer though.

Spice. Floral and musty notes. Short and somewhat dry finish. Pleasant with food. Decent villages.

Good fruit, but somewhat harsh tannins even after an hour open. Definitely a food wine at the moment.

A very pleasant 2006 AOC that came around fairly quickly without decanting. A fine producer. Some of the finesse of Vosne R. came through through, but this is a lighter style wine in a mildly good vintage fro the region. Missed the complexity and deep dive into red currant, raspberry or strawberry scents. A nice wine to drink today, will develop a bit with timer.

Decanted 1.5 hours. Eaten with lemon chicken. Varietal nose. Fore of cherry and forest fruit, with broad fresh acidity and tannins. Without food it was a little lost - but with food the structure played better.

Soft red fruits, five spice, hints of oak. This is evolved already from a bottle a year ago, showing a gentler, softer, more earthen nose. Very good but not sure that it will improve a lot more, more of a short termer.

Very pale red. Classic Nose of undergrowth. Noticeable, but integrated oak. Palate: lithe, light with some sticky tannins. high acid finish promises a longer life for this wine. would love to try it at 10 years plus. Very good, but for committed Burgundy lovers. --- At a 2006 Red Village Burgundies Tasting Line up Vosne-Romanée, Grivot Vosne-Romanée, Vielles Vignes, Potel, Gevry-Chambartin, Maume Nuits-St-George, Chauvenet Chorey-les-Beaunes, Tollot-Beaut Beaune 1er Cru, Clos des Vignes Franches Monopole, Potel Blind: NSG, Chauvenet, 2003
