Really tasting great right now !! Perfect cork after a decade and a half in the bottle. Consumed over three days. This wine started a little tight, but opened up and showed better the next day. On day three the fruit was still fresh and acid still firm; this wine had softened to reveal increased depth, texture, and integrated complexity. Dark red color with little to no oxidation, and clarity medium, not fined or filtered. Aromas of black cherry, and …

Slow ox’d for 5 hours. Notes of violets, blueberries, graham cracker, mocha, and baking spices. Definitely new world in character but exceptionally well made and very yummy.

Nice nose of strawberry, cranberry, and a hint of cherry, while the palate reveals darker cherry and boysenberry notes around a hint of spice and pepper. Lovely!

Aroma: blueberry, plum and vanilla. Palate: spicy plum and red berry flavors with meaty, spicy and nutty notes. Cured meat. Moderate acidity and complexity. Good tannic structure.

Nice example of the varietal - not cloying or overly heavy. Great with middle eastern food.

Excellent as always. 2015 seems a little sweeter and less complex than previous vintages, but some serious tannic grip will make this go the distance. Still very young - but delicious nonetheless.

Inky purple color with dark ripe fruit with a nice finish but not terribly complex. Lots of sediment in the last glass. I probably should have consumed this bottle at least a year ago.

Not that inspiring a wine. Decent texture, and some pure fruit notes, but a distracting green aspect that did not appeal to me. It's been almost ten years: what you see is what you get.

Started off really good, but got a bit overpowering.

Rock solid hefty syrah but I think its just going to fade from here, I'd agree with the prior review. Even my last bottle as well : ( Nothing particularly compelling or unique though.

Quick TN: Popped and poured. This is still a big, bad-ass syrah. Tons of fruit (dark berries), some reductive notes, some glycerin, a lot of acidity but not a lot of tannin showing. Did not budge over the course of 3 hours. Nice with grilled brats. My last bottle.

Inky, deep red-black. Massive wine, but closed tonight, just showing charcoal and red licorice. Lots of upside potential.

Drank on Mothers Day with Grilled Flank Steak. A great duo. Tons of fruit. Too bad it was my last bottle.

Very nice stand alone wine. Classic blueberry California Syrah taste and texture. A bit heavy but full flavor. I would have liked a bit more complexity.

Decanted for 1 hour. This wine is much more open than when I last tasted and is drinking beautifully. The wine smells of smoke, tar with blackberries and spice. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with a nice mouth feel, refreshing acidity and firm but round tannins with a 20+ second finish. The wine is still young and is in no danger of fading anytime soon with some tannins to resolve if you like your wines more mature.

A lttle tight at this point. Compared to other 2005 Beckmens this is the least open at this point. Nice nose of blueberries intermixed with a little smoke. Gripping tannins mellowed out with the air. The next day it was still going strong and had not faded in the least bit. While accessable now this needs a little more bottle time to round out.
