Wow! This one has some depth, Parmigiano Reggiano funky smell right up front, with acidic fruit to back it up.

not blind Again a phantastique Rose. Sublime, reluctant, refreshing, blindly difficult to detect as a Rose. Raspberry, red currant and cranberry. Balanced, at his peak. 94

Fresh red fruit and Christmas spice. A bit more development than last time, with deeper flavors. Moderate complexity/finish. Overall, lots of bottle variation.

Similar to other comments, there is bottle variation. I found this bottle outstanding: huge nose of macerated strawberries, balsamic, floral elements, palate of dark red fruits, complex, acidity... much better at room temperature (and served in Riedel Burgundy glasses). Prior bottles seemed to acidic and disjointed (which could represent either bottle variation or that I consumed those bottles too early or too cold).

I am assuming flawed bottle but this is a few bottles in a row that haven’t showed well. I think I’m giving up on Courtin

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours -- -- code etched in bottle near the bottom: LA13D1118ND -- NOSE: moderately expressive; non-descript, toasty red fruits; a touch biscuity. BODY: rich, coppery-orange color; medium-light bodied. TASTE: quite oxidative; moderately intense cherry-strawberry fruit combo; very "red wine-y"; 12% alc. not noticeable; no sulfur; no dosage; waaaay better than my previous bottle, which seemed to have multiple flaws. Gut impression score: low 90s.

This was outstanding. Fresh red fruited Christmas spice. Moderate+ complexity. 93-95. Unfortunately, there has been a tremendous amount of bottle variation - all from the same case.

Disgorged July 2017. 100% Pinot Noir, 3 grams of dosage and sans soufre. This is aging beautifully. Tangy raspberry, blood orange, lime with an elegant, balanced mouthfeel. Too bad this was my last bottle.

Highly vinous, a little hollow on the midpalate but makes up for it with lovely tension and freshness. Macerated strawberries and balsamic, with laser focused acidity. Lovers of Cedric Bouchard’s style will appreciate this wine

Salmon pink. Oxidative nose, kinda dried bonito flakes note dominates with some strawberry, cherry aromas. These tones disappear on the palate. A really young Champagne, needs at least 2-3 years of bottle aging to start coming together. The acid is awesome and is complemented by a strong chalky note. It's really rare to make rose Champagne that tastes exactly like Pinot Noir in all aspects. Love Marie Courtin.

TCA This bottle was slightly corked. It was otherwise interesting to me: Nose was faint (thanks, TCA), and smelled like red wine. Some spicy woodsiness on the palate, but very little fruit. A bit on the oxidative side. Flawed. Weird. Given other users' notes, it appears there were problems with this bottling. Hoping my other bottle shows a lot better.

I've had several bottles over the past 18 months, with varying performance. This bottle was a bit musky (at least one prior bottle was corked). This is nowhere near the quality (clean, pure expression) I enjoyed 18 months ago. I have several bottles left and I’m crossing my fingers.

I think that this is one of those moments with a producer where the first impression really counts. Sadly I think I will not be buying another bottle from this producer based on this one experience. There is a strong apple cider note on the palate that dominates the palate before notes of watermelon & strawberry kicks in. This is pretty strait forward and for the money I'm not willing to try again. Good...but for $90 this is a wine …

Blind. Vinous, wild with a some volatile notes, hint of complexity, red apples, bitter finish, some resemblance to a mature lambic.

First time with this one and I really liked it. Saw an online Zoom with her earlier in all of these crazy days and found her quite charming. The rose is like dried red berries and a bit of an maybe tree bark. Easy to drink. Suspect only gets better with age.

Lean and linear in style. Pleasant bitter red berry notes on palate. I always want to liker her champagnes more than I do. But there is admirable purity and clarity to them.

A bit of a geeky sparkler. It completely reminds me of an orange wine in it's color and light oxidized style. It's nice but not my thing.

Second of two. The first bottle I opened last month, with the result of 'flawed' for my note. The experience seemed odd for a Marie Courtin wine, the bottle showing advanced. So, to decide if this was a style issue or simply a one-off bottle, I figured I would open the second of two and see. Same details as the first bottle....disgorged December 2018, no dosage, no sulfur, 100% Pinot Noir. This wine is copper colored, quite unique in that …

There is just something off with this bottle. The color is an orange/salmon, and there are some sherry-like notes and perhaps even a touch of TCA, although I am not certain it's corked. Overall, I didn't care for this and have taken some photos of the wine to shoot off to Dominique Laurent at the domaine to get her thoughts. I'm wanting to think my other bottle is not like this, and at $90 US, I want to taste something …

Rose with copper hues. On the nose, red berry fruit, some spice, and subtle autolytic notes. On the palate, a fine bead, seemingly low dosage, and a chalkiness add to the fresh berry and pomegranate notes. Savory and fruit driven with outstanding balance of acidity, mousse and subtle dosage. A terrific pairing with a BLT using the first good tomatoes of the season.

not blind, 100% PN, 48h on maceration, no sulfite This is a stunning rose, drank over two days. Not too fruity, not too bitter or tannic. Some wild strawberries, a bit spicy but evrything is phantastically balanced. Great length and pure precise finish. One of the best roses I had so far. 94-95

From the wine list at The Riddler (NYC). Disgorged Dec-2018. Zero dosage - so a bit leaner and more chiseled than your typical rosé. Red fruited, mineral finish - but not as giving as it might be with a bit more cellar time. If I owned these I would hold for a few years. Paired with oysters, razor clams and shrimp cocktail.

I guess with natural wine-making things can go wrong. When I tried the same wine three months ago I gave it 92 points. This bottle was awful. Smelled and tasted like a cheap Beaujolais.

Day 1: Decanted and consumed over 90 minutes. This really opened with air, while holding on to the fine bubbles. Aromas that osciliated back and forth between fresh ocean air and maraschino cherry, but not sweet. At times the nose was reminded me of a young burgundy. Flavors comprised of saline and red fruits. Fresh, drinkable, and absolutely gorgeous. I can’t enough of this wine. This should drink well over the next several years, then reevaluate. Day 2: Left bottle …

Beautiful hot pink rose champagne that was filled with red fruit, saline minerality and an interesting sweet mousse. Complex wine that breaks from traditional rose champagne and was a treat. I will definately pick up more on the next release and give this a closer look. Served over brunch and drank well with everything at the table.

Deep salmon in color. A unique bold aromatic bubbly with wild red berries/cherries, rhubarb and asian spice on the nose and palate. Slightly bitter and tart with an abrupt finish. Not my style, but fun to try.

So aromatic! Wild berries, nougat, cream. the mousse is there but not tip of the tongue aggressive, rather creamy mid palate bubbly. Finish is dry and stern but short. I would not save this for ten years. Very good now though.

New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Third Annual Edition : Deeper sockeye color. This is a bold wine, cherry, tart, fuller body, a bit strict on the finish. I think I'd have preferred just a straightforward brut version of this. 90+ to 91pts.

Started dinner with Hollis, Elliott, and Roger with this. This was so good! Didn’t show any of the phenolic bitterness I often get on rose champagnes, and it did show awesomely complex aromas and flavors—things like ripe red peaches, tropical hints of guava and pineapple...just really an experience. But all balanced with a salty edge. A unique rose champagne that’s one of my favorites. This champagne for me was about a fresh and moderate weight palate with awesome aromatics and …
