Super tight after pop and pour. Expected this to be a bit more open at 8 years of age, but I guess aging in barrique gave this more structure than I anticipated. Great purity of fruit, verging on the darker side for Pinot (black cherry, blackberry, cranberry). Wood influence features prominently here, not quite fully integrated but also not unpleasant in its current state. I think it's worth holding onto further bottles to allow them to develop greater tertiary character …
