Needed a few days to slow ox in a Grolsch swing top bottle with a 1-cm air gap. Generous in plum, dark chocolate, cassis and minerals. Perfectly balanced and with a 30+ sec finish (red current sauce & cocoa). Probably at peak now, and with proper cellaring & decanting, can hold for 5 more yrs. The 1995s I've tasted have been spectacular, and I fear this balanced, lower alcohol winemaking aesthetic is largely no more in practice. Give me a …
