disappointing hoping for greatness, instead this was disjointed, no sense of place, and the worst wine of our burgundy get together at Chevalier oh well

North London TWS Tastings series: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (Must and Lees, N1) : Nose is very perfumed - old leather and balsamic but some young red cherry, Palate is quite young too and tannins are still pretty present and fresh red fruit. This has great stuffing and will only get better

North London TWS Tastings series: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (Must and Lees, N1) : Classy. My notes ran out, but classy. It was alongside the Morey-St-Denis and did not eclipse it, but this was really good. Fine, precise and lively.

Still young! For a 13-year old wine... Great vintage of course. A little furry still - needs time to soften. A sweet, hypnotic perfume. Oddly drying, though. Fantastic to think this is still going to evolve.

Chardonnays and Pinots of North London (Must & Lees) : I'm a fan of Boillot's reds, and this was good, but ultimately outshone by the village wine had alongside it. Maybe it just needs a little more time. Grown up in feel, rich on the nose, then greener and more savoury. Still some tannin evident. Long finish. Yum.

Not so open but rich and high-concentrated. Need to age for 5 or more years.

Med dark pig'd clear ruby, decanted in Le Severo, wound up pretty tightly with restrained nose and with acids and tannins dominating early on, eventually began to demonstrate red fruits and flowers, clearly too early to be in optimal form but on list at decent price and we're on a burg roll so...

From a split, with slight signs of seepage. Alluring nose, with a lot of dark berry notes as well as a hint of earth, though the aromas are somewhat hot. On the palate, there is a little bit of effervescence which seems to indicate some secondary fermentation going on. Tannins are, as expected, quite young, but the wine seems somewhat harsh on the acidity and somewhat unbalanced. I'm going to chalk this one up to poor storage conditions.
