Bright garnet showing a touch of age on the rim. Nice dark fruit on the nose. Tannin smoothing well and still pretty fruit forward. Nice balance. Cocoa and tobacco notes. Elegant texture. Drinking very nicely

This 2012 Abeja CS was purchased as a part of a 12 bottle 'Mystery Box' of 6 reds and 6 whites with the promise that some of the wines would have some age on them. Paying only $23 a bottle for the 12 made this an easy decision and I'm very happy with the wines I received. This bottle has very resolved tannins and is very smooth and flavorful. blackberry vanilla chocolate black cherry Glad to have finally tried this …

Drinking beautifully. Round, well-integrated tannins. Fruit mid-palate. Hint of tobacco. Long finish. Glad I have another bottle!

To my taste ready to roll, opened with a plum note that dominated for the first half hour, then settled nicely into the background. Tannins resolved, still in balance, but would err on the side of drinking. Should hold for a few more years but given how it showed tonight why wait? Served with lamb loin chops-nice match.

Not decanted, personally cellared for five plus years. This bottle was singing tonight, incredible nose, great balanced between dark fruit and cedar notes, very long pleasant finish.

Wonderful balance of rich dark/red fruit with cocoa/tobacco, med+ acid and long finish congruent with nose/palate. Delightful!

This bottle was double decanted and had some fine sediment. The cork and wine were in good shape. It was very enjoyable over two evenings, although i thought it had a slight tannic finish. It will probably be fine for a few more years but I am not sure much will be gained by doing so.

This has come together beautiful. Decanted for 90 min. Powerful bouquet. There is nothing subtle about it. Bold, spiced, and nice acidity. Smoke, vanilla, mushroom, over ripe strawberry. Firm tannins and long finish. I was disappointed in first two bottles, but the time is right to drink now.

Garnet colored, medium full bodied, ripe, bright expressive nicely balanced black berry, black currant and cherry fruits accented by notes of mocha, black tea, tobacco, sweet oak and hints of lavender and pepper finishing with nice smooth soft well integrated tannins. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2019/12/abeja-cabernet-sauvignon-columbia.html

I don't know, not sure I like it. Pop and pour, a little too acidic at this point, which is a bit surprising. Maybe needs more air and I can give it an update over time

For the price, it doesn’t get much better than this. Chocolate, cigar box, cherry. So smooth and approachable. Firm tannins. Nice balance. Medium long finish.

Nice wine. Decanted 90 minutes. Pleasant aromas of vanilla and blueberries. On the palate, silky, full minus body with a balanced texture and integrated tannins. In the middle of dry and sweet with a smooth, non-astringent finish. Should continue improve into 2020, but is ready to go now. Fair QPR and would buy again.

When I P&P, I had to wonder what this was - it was all blue and black fruits like a Syrah only with vanilla oak, and I knew it had WW roots due to low acidity and tannins. On the second night, it had the classic cab character with menthol and spice to go with the sweet fruit. Downgraded the score due to the alcohol on the nose. There was no bricking at all in the glass, so will expand …

A wonderful wine! Nice nose and full-bodied with medium legs. Soft tannins and structure make this wine very drinkable right now (late 2015). Not a long finish, but tasty! Now would be the time to enjoy this well-crafted wine, although a couple more years wouldn't hurt. Cheers!

Popped and poured I noticed the oak immediately on the nose and palate. There is good fruit under all this nice oak but it still needs yard to integrate.

Medium-dark ruby. Wine has mellowed out, butterscotch vanillas on nose are gone, leaving an understated simple core of stone fruit with traces of sweet wood and leather. Taste is even, balanced, with nearly no tannins remaining. This is entering early stages of maturation, probably appealing most to those that love aged Cabernet. But there is no browning or loss of character. It's just classic. Another 3-5 years left, best in the next year or two. Extending drinking window.

Deep ruby. Hot bouquet - 14.8% alcohol. Concentrated sweet cherry fruit, but heat makes it kirsch-like. Resolved tannins. Some complexity. Lots of sediment. Good, but not in the Outstanding category.

Popped the cork and let it breath for about an hour. It was ready to go after that. Nose was nice, with lots of fruit, some sweet, integrated oak notes. Palate was full and entirely drinkable and enjoyable. Had this with a prime fillet that cut like butter and enjoyed the pairing very much. Would buy again.

I'm always amazed at how Abeja is so balanced. I can taste the bright red fruit, sense the moderate alcohol and feel the tannins (somewhat resolved) but none more than the other. Great with food or without. Paired nicely with a bison ribeye tonight.
