This is at its prime, but will not get better. Full-bodied, rich and dark on the palate with a true, long finish. Moderate sediment; stand for a day before drinking and drink soon. Asks for strongly flavored food. Unlike thel last taste in 2012, it's now ready to drink upon pouring.

Aging beautifully. This is still somewhat tannic and stiff out of the bottle, but softened up perfectly after just a few minutes in the glass. Excellent body and structure with a complex and long finish. At its peak now; probably can drink over the next couple of years. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has …

this bottle was lifeless...absolutely dead...a waste of calories. strangely so, because recent bottles were excellent.

Should have followed my own advice from my prior note. Three years later, this has the powerful structure of a Barolo or Barbaresco, if perhaps not the stuffing. Black licorice along with cedar and strawberries on the nose. High acidity on the palate, though it seemed to fill out with fruit over time. Massive tannins on the finish. There was some strange suspended sediment, though nothing else seemed out of place. In any case, I'd say hold for 3-5 years. …

Awesome QPR. Not quote a barolo but that's ok for a fraction of the price. Will buy more tomorrow for sure.

this is becoming semi-great juice, especially on the 2nd day. punching above its price for a langhe.

Delicous sweet fruit. Licorice, some spice, leather and paint remover. Some strange residue in glass.

(B+) Lovely feminine nebbiolo, with flowers and nice acid. Touch of earth and crushed rocks.

Must have been corked in some unique non-obvious way because I loved the last bottle of this I tried and couldn't work my way through this one. Strange.

Nice wine. Needs air at this age. Refreshing nebbiolo on the light side. A good thing.

Great QPR here--all the body, flavor and structure of Barolo or Barbaresco, but at sub-$25. Aromatic, licorice, menthol, spice and red fruits. Tannic and structured. Needs meat/cheese, lots of flavor, though.

Almost as good as the 2007 version. As always a very good representation of Nebbiolo. A little closed just upon opening but quickly developed its usual tar, rose petal and dark red fruit aromatics. Quite approachable and really punching above its weight. Drink or hold. 90+

Whiff of tar, liquorice and cherries. Authentic. Medium weight palate, dustily tannic but not so aggressive, dry and savoury. Medium length finish. Good approachable example of the grape. Tasty and moreish. (By the glass at Otto's; don't know how much air the bottle had seen.)

Lively red raspberries and strawberries on the nose turn more brooding on the palate. Very chalky tannins. Incredibly satisfying. Way better than it has a right to be south of $20. Highly recommended.

Wish I had the patience to wait on this. Classic nebbiolo with floral nose and taste of cherries, mocha and dusty tannins.

UPON OPENING - nose totally closed. Surprisingly dark - purple/black. Taste was primarily of tannin with some dark berry, cocoa. DAY 1 CONTINUED: opened up in an hour or so, with more aroma and lots more flavor - good. Add a little dried herb and dusty mineral, with more fruit. DAY 2: drank the best on this day - richer, more fruit, still loads of tannin and seems plenty of acid structure too. Very nice. Medium body. DAY 3: as …
