Monte Xanic Cabernet Sauvignon

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, black currant, black pepper and smokey. It's balanced and has flavours of strawberry jam, prune and smokey with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a long finish.

Good color and body, but fruit marred by a salty undertone that, on its own, detract. However, with a pastrami sandwich, seemed to be better. At lunch with Jason and Cris.

Friday at Jason's Office (Jason Hagen's office) : Served blind. Funky odd nose showing a salty fish note and cinnamon later on. Mouth stripping tannins initially it becomes somewhat flabby and rich.

The Vineyard Lunch Gang Has A FreeForAll - Dec 18, 2009 : Well I seemed to like this more than the others at the table. Even brought some home for dinner. Showed some interesting elements although overall it seemed a bit dirty. Not sure what this costs but if it is sub $15 it would be fun to revisit.
