Beauty. Well balanced for a biggie.

Best SF I've tried and an excellent result for the Vic 2020 vintage. Despite the 15.7% ABV this is very polished and balanced, so much so it's heading in the elegant direction (at least for the region). Well handled supporting oak.

It's young but it's great already. Deep and dark in colour. Too refined to be full bodied. Starts with anise, vanilla, blackberries and pepper on the nose. Very balanced on the palate and richer than a Barossa shiraz - spices, dark chocolate, coffee, plum and blackberry. The right structure to last 15+ years. Oddly, it seems to lack the kind of length you would expect from something with this presence.

No noticeable hotness despite the 16% alcohol level. Decadent and delicious, very ripe and rich. Dark fruit, chocolate, spice, and smoke. Expressive nose. Fine tannins and a seductive silky texture. Drink now or hold for 2-3 years at most.

Strong powerful red wine but no tannin left. Yum but still beefy and Australian.

Shiraz nose, more generic"dark fruit" than plums or blackberries on the nose. Medium to full bodied on the palate, with fruitcake and graphite. Very little cool climate pepper.

Syrupy thick and very rich. The fruit is over the top and so is the alcohol, but if you're in the mood for a flamboyant Australian Shiraz this is it. No rush to drink this up.

How do I describe this wine..? 16.0% alcohol, and I’m not sure why. It’s kind of thick and rich. I was interested to try it, particularly at 12 years old, but it’s not to my taste. There’s probably a good reason that 14.5% is a popular alcohol limit, and it’s there that I find the wines that I really enjoy. Still in good condition in a magnum format.

Abundant ripe blackberry, eucalyptus, oak. Plenty of life left. Screwcap closure.

Full flavored ripe Shiraz. Not grapey. Some spice and minerality to go with the whack of fruit. Good acidity. Some will find this a tad boozy though, especially after being open several hours. Will this improve and cellar as well as older vintages did? Impressive but not quite up to a Wow.

I can't quite reconcile the balance of the wine. The fruit is typically Heathcote, with mint, eucalypt, plums and blueberry. For me the acidity is not quite right. I figure this is a wine on the downslope, which is disappointing given the pedigree.

Decanted for 2 hours and then consumed over 2 nights. An intensive fruit driven nose with vanilla & dried herbs. A medium to full bodied wine showing ripe plum, dark chocolate , liquorice, dried herbs, vanilla, graphite, spice & a floral component. The finish is excellent with a fine tannin & acid structure. On day 2 it did not budge and showed the same richness. Overall a rich & complex wine. In my mind this needs a decade.

Beautiful wine, with exotic spice, a hint of oak, lovely blue fruits. Tannins are well resolved. But this still seemed incredibly young. I wouldn't be surprised if this had another decade of life.

SLDS September 2017 : Blueberry and red currant, overlaid with pencil shavings, vanilla, spice and cedar. Rich and jube like on the palate, serving to conver the alcohol well. Good length. Certainly ripe but I think it shows good style.

A truly "great" wine. A complete miscarriage of justice that the Wine Library can no longer ship to Georgia.

Just opened so needs to breathe but the screwcap liner is stained. Dairy milk chocolate and malt over red and black berries on the nose. Concentrated fruit, but light on its feet for such a big wine. Good length. Very, Very Good.

What a great value! This wine has good fruit, good structure and good tannins. It is a fruit-forward style shiraz. It is loaded with perceivably sweet berries and dark fruit. I love it ... especially at it's price point.

As an aussie expert this wine is a great value at $30 a bottle delivered. Coffee, spice, vanilla, crushed rock and dark fruits. Medium to long finish and concentrated wine. Very young but so delicious that it is hard not to drink now. Should age for a decade.
