A wonderful blend of Portuguese grapes harvested in the last 30 years by Tiago Alves de Sousa, this is why the name: Memories! Simply wonderful Douro wine. In a short time no bottle will be available in the market, it's a limited edition.

A blend of +20 different varieties (mainly Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Touriga Nacional) from a 80-yo plot within Quinta da Gaivosa vineyard. This is a special Garrafeira version of Quinta da Gaivosa wine, released only from exceptional vintages and only with minimum 7 years of aging. Minuscule production. 14,5% alcohol. Tasted blind. Quite dense, opaque and somewhat evolved blackish-red color with a tertiary maroon hue. The nose feels evolved, quite rich and moderately sweetly-fruited with aromas of …

This is a special Garrafeira version of Quinta da Gaivosa wine, released only from exceptional vintages and only with minimum 7 years of aging. Minuscule production. 14,5% alcohol. Tasted blind. Dense, fully opaque and still very youthful plummy red color. Ripe, concentrated and moderately sweetish nose with brooding aromas of dark plums and boysenberries, some …

A Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional et al blend, promising open nose filled with plums, figs and classic claret features, the palate fulfills the promise and follows the nose offering also eucalyptus, violets, sour dark berries, hints of vanilla, attractive cold tones, reminiscent of a right bank Bordeaux. The overall freshness, good acidity together with claret type aromas make this a very balanced and beautiful wine, drinks excellently now but will last.

Attractive open nose, the palate is temptingly fruity, complex aromatics, eucalyptus, dark velvety tones and integrated tannins, drinking very well but will develop. The previous two bottles were better since this bottle had overripe apple core flavours and the wine was developed beyond its 12 years of age. In any case, a very good wine but not the best bottle.
