Gramercy Cellars Cabernet Franc Two Blondes Vineyard

A pleasant Pinot from Gramercy. Cherry and strawberry fruit, with a spicy, herbal component. A nice floral touch (violets?) and an earthy, loamy, finish. A very enjoyable Pinot that has plenty of life left in it.

Very light, low alcohol, excellent summer wine.

W salmon dish. Goos combo. Good solid Oregon pinot. Balanced and. Ot excessive in amy direction.

Drinking really well right now— balanced, cherry fruit and black pepper. Pleasantly surprised; wish I had more!

A solid and substantial pinot from Gramercy. It has upfront cherry and black raspberry fruits with a savoury, spicy component. Some smoke, a hint of flowers and definite mineralogy to it. It is very pleasing but oddly not that compelling at the moment. It needs more bottle age and I think (hope?) it will develop more character.

Light bodied n colors, soft cherry and rap RT, good cid, crisp.

Medium garnet – gorgeous and perfumed quintessential Oregon pinot noir nose of strawberry, cherry cola, summer blackberry brambles, red raspberry, rose, and earth. Medium acid, medium- tannins, 12.9% ABV, medium- body, short finish. Take my notes on body and finish with a grain of salt (they would probably be bigger and longer, respectively), as they were evaluated when the wine was first opened. I found the wine just started to open up at the 1½ hour mark, which unfortunately was …

Decanted. Mix of red berry fruit and blood orange on the nose, with a note of wet earth right after spring rain. Lovely to drink, notes of bright bing cherries lead with pomegranate, cinnamon and pepper spice. Great freshness, it's lighter in body with a decided note of salty sea air across the palate. Resolved tannins, medium acidity. It's got the bright 15 fruit and the delicacy of a cooler year like 07, 11 or 13. Tasty.

I’m a huge fan of Gramercy but was uncertain about their foray into Oregon Pinot. Boy, did I underestimate them! Floral and fruity on the nose, great balance with the crisp raspberry and red cherry and good acid to complement chicken Milanese with a sage butter sauce. Terrific!

I really enjoyed this wine. I am not a Pinot Noir drinker, but this had much more body and complexity than most pinots that I've had. Nice full fruit up front, round berry flavors. No tannins but good length.

Thanksgiving 2017

Bouquet of quality Oregon Pinot Noir, and of many modernly styled Burgundy offerings. Generous red and purple fruit up front (New World characteristic) backed by strong sous-bois and mineral veins, along with great acid and appealing texture (Old World characteristics). A fine wine that will certainly improve with time. It needs no less than three years, probably five, and should be beautiful in ten. 92-93.
