Domaine Dupasquier Vin de Savoie Pinot

P&p. Smells like dark cherries and flowers, with a stewed/compote aspect but also plenty of freshness. Earth, too. Same on the palate - dark fruit, flowers, earth - with nice tart acidity and rocky, gravelly minerality. Good stuff. Day 2 (stored in a half bottle) - even more pungent and floral, and some some pine needle has developed, working wonderfully with the earthiness and strong minerality. Super fresh. Highly moreish. I'm really liking this.

I was very pleased to find this at the state wine store on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia to BYOB. Started off a little closed, becoming aromatic about forty five minutes after opening: forest floor smells. Warm-tasting, relatively light-bodied in texture if still somewhat rich, rather like the Dupasquier Gamay. Best drunk cool.

Best pinot I've had in ages.

Mellow persimmon fruit notes together with wet stone and damp earth on the nose, followed by mild plum flavors and a nice tannic streak. Very enjoyable.

Interesting. Not like any other Pinot Noir I've ever had. Almost prune-like flavor. Very light body. Felt like a Jura. Enjoyed, though I wouldn't call it a favorite.
