Took a few minutes to open up, but once it did I get notes of dark fruit, earth, and some smokiness on the nose. Dark fruit, cocoa, vanilla, and a bit of spice on the palate. Medium body, medium acid, moderate tannins, and a medium finish.

Second or third bottle of this same vintage over the past couple of months. Paired with homemade lamb bolognese (also used in the recipe). Better each time. 90 points and improving.

Smells of plum, charcoal, and earth. Showing great balance between fruit and spice, with a mineral note as well. Finishes with chewy sweet tannins and an acid brightness. Seems to have come together in the past year.

This started up much better in the beginning. As the wine opened up it became thinner and with less dark fruit. The price is right at $12 and will be a good summer bbq wine, but not a reorder wine...
