Incredible bottle, impossible to believe it is in its 22d year, so fresh and ethereal, perhaps the finest textured white wine I've had all year! Agree 100% with the prior 2 notes and the John Gilman review from 2022.

Given that I live less than a mile from the ocean, I really ought to drink more Muscadet, especially considering how much I’ve cellared over the years (a lot). Tooch Going Away Dinner (TDS) : Tired and overly mature nose. Palate is waxy and flat. Well past peak.

A farewell to Tooch (Chicago, IL) : Not a fan of this at all. Fairly oily with some nutty and waxy qualities on the palate. High-toned, with some Sharpie marker/organic solvent tones, and the alcohol seems like it pokes through a little bit on the finish.

Gold but not dark in color. This wine is still firm on the palate with some minerality and some salinity. It hasn't necessarily improved with aging, but it has shown its ability to age well.

Wonderful tonight. Very fresh, rather angular at first, but then broadening a touch with wonderful lemon, chalk, and mineral notes. Lingering finish. Still in great shape though probably best to appreciate in the next 2-4 years.

I was surprised this didn't show more age, it was fresh as a button. Great acid and verve. Chalky minerality, brine/saline and citrus notes. Really impressive, might be the best bottle of the 02 I have had to date.

Bottle #4 of 7. Still fresh and young. Very light pale yellow. Super aromas and palate of sea breeze, razor sharp acidity, lemon zest, and a creamy, long finish. Superb.

Quite classic aged muscadet. Elegant, light but concentrated, saline and mineral notes, with some fruit emerging as it warms. Judging from other notes here this is on the downward from peak as the acidity was softening and first 20-30 minutes were the strongest. Still, a clear case of well made wine, and further proof for me that good muscadet is probably best under 15 years age.

My last bottle, and that's perhaps a good thing as it is starting to show signs of the back end of its development. Deep gold, with the lovely salinity and toastiness of past bottles, but also with some oxidative almond and orange peel notes. Drink up.

Fantastic wine consumed over two days and showing no sign of "fatigue"-- nose of lemon zest and honeysuckle; palate of lemon, honeydew, and this mid-palate sneak attack of sage/verbana or some savoury floral element and long lemon drop finish. Beautiful-- wish I had more!

Still incredibly primary and youthful, almost to the point of seeming a bit one-note in its bright lemon and mineral flavours. It's a classic Muscadet full of acidity and refreshment, but not terribly complex right now. Though given how the '89 showed alongside, maybe this just needs another decade or two.

Drank over one hour, so did not get the benefit of air. Briny lemony goodness in the nose. Medium body, with some toast, oyster shell, lemon. Nice autolytic and mineral notes. Still quite young and primary. Nice finish of lemon and saline.

Bottle #3 of 7. Still a tiny bit candied at first, though less than last time. This still needs time. Bright, pure, citrus and honeydew-oriented muscadet, with less seabreeze and acidity than I would like, but I know that will come with time. Maybe a bit closed right now on the PnP.

Lemon, lime, yeast; some richness and florals. Quite nice, though not as amazing as my last bottle.

Flowers, rocks, and lemon & lime, beach, saltwater. Rich and creamy on the palate. Medium-plus acidity. Very long finish. Fantastic with butter-rich crab. Excellent. Acquired in a mixed auction lot for $14 a bottle, and that is an AMAZING QPR. Improved over two hours with air. Drink now or hold.

MuscaDay 2015 : A beautiful L d'Or, tons of cut and verve. Saline, chalk, intense and brisk with candied lemon, apricot, oyster shell and lots of potpourri and spice. So alive and bright, years ahead if cellared properly.

Really beautiful. The years have smoothed the sharp edges, but it still has the muscadet verve, cut and minerality. I need to age more of these.

Killer wine that is barely beginning to mature, showing the beginning hints of butterscotch (aided by the distinct saltiness of the minerality), plus lime, grapefruit, orange peel, it's zesty, direct, and mouthfilling with perfect poise.

Blind Dinner at Browntrout (Browntrout - Chicago, IL) : Served blind. I guessed Muscadet, but wasn't quite sure on the age. Most people thought this was a bit corked, but I thought it was just aged Muscadet. Dunno. Anyways, the nose had tons of stony and airy tones of florals and tangerine. The palate was crisp and lively, I think some got some corky notes here, but again, I didn't see that as much. Wasn't as moving as the bottle …

Blind Dinner at Browntrout (Chicago, IL) : Served blind. Isopropyl alcohol and Bandaids on the nose, like a hospital. Very high toned, with some almond aromas as well. Definitely old world based on the weird oily and funky palate. Not much acidity, and a slight bit of gasoline. I'm thinking this was a flawed bottle based on the really disturbing nose.

For SFJoe (Josefa & Mark's House - Chicago, IL) : The first time I had this I liked it a bit more. This bottle wasn't as fresh and zippy but still had beautiful floral and rocky tones to it.
