This wine still has a lot of stuffing left. Upon opening, first glass was very dry, austere, tannic. Second glass about 30-40 minutes later was really singing. Fruit began to come to the forefront, tannins mellowed and the wine rounded out. This probably still has another 2-4 years at least.

Fruit gone; mostly acid at this point. A far cry from what I tasted 16 months ago.

A bit better than last time. Popped and tasted and the acid was through the roof. Gave it a few minutes in my glass and blew off and turned out to be great. Give a small decant if you can on this and then drink away!!

Alas the fruit is fading but nevertheless still enjoyable. Flavor profile of cherry, blackberry, clove spice and menthol. More oak than I remember. Still one of my favorite value Pinots.

Fruit is fading, but still an enjoyable drink. Cherry, blackberry, bramble. But mainly clove, menthol, spice, earth. A bit oaky, but nice texture and a long brambly, menthol finish.

Jeff Pisoni's wine. A dialed back cousin to the Lucia. And at a GREAT price for value.

Medium garnet, translucent in glass, with pretty red-fruit aromas. Palate shows beautiful, yet restrained flavors of Bing cherry, rose petal and cardamom, Asian spice, along with a balancing (and not quite yet integrated) acidity, along with a medium finish. A terrific QPR in the $20-25 price range, this second label from Pisoni is worth every penny. Better in 6 mos or a year.

Medium garnet in color, this wine shows intense black cherry, loam and raspberry on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with additional notes of baking spices, cherry and dust. The finish is firm and keeps the 14.1% abv clearly in check. Purchased for $19US, this is a very good value that shows its origin and also delivers on the qpr standpoint.

This was a perfect Pinot. Not thin at all. Full, with a typical Pinot nose. We had the wine with salmon and it was a perfect match. The finish held beautifully, no sour overtones that, to me, are typical of other Pinot Noirs. Maybe a little fruit forward but a lovely wine

Meh, Thin, lacking any real varietal typicity. Maybe just needs time but this go round was really not good.

Nose is raspberry and earthy/truffles. On the palate, raspberry and spicy wood. Nice body and balance (plenty of acidity). Very nice for a lighter Pinot.

Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium ruby color. Nice nose of truffles, black cherries, violets. Soft on the palate with earthy flavors balancing the fruit. Finishes with iron shavings and orange peel. It's a medium-bodied version of Pinot, all good. Not distinguished, but certainly very solid for this price point. Far better than most.

popped and poured. color deep ruby. starts out with smoke, cherry, and some cola and after a few hours some spices. on palate there is good balance between fruit/tannin/acid, with the latter adding a spiciness to the the red fruit. soft mouthfeel, med weight on palate with med finish. very approachable and easy to like.

A lighter red color. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and a little stem. Medium weight and soft feel on the palate. Low acid and tannins cannot match the nice fruit. Medium length on the finish.

Nice nose: rich cherry. Front end was nice but finished a bit thin and needs a bit more time in the bottle.

Was far too young. Once it was given a chance to open a bit it had nice fruit with hints of berry. Definitely needs more age and it will develop into a nice pinot.

Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (San Francisco Wine Trading Company) : Lighter core. Very pretty tart cherry and cinnamon notes. Medium weight black cherry fruit. Some cola syrup and wood came through, but all told, quite attractive with some damp earth adding complexity at the end.
