Not a producer I am overly familiar with, but this isn’t bad. The red fruit here is a little more prominent on the palate, and the wine has decent acidity. I like this.

A producer I'm not familiar with, so I must have picked this up a while ago spur of the moment. Not bad - and getting better with air (this was popped & poured). The red fruit is more prominent on the nose, with a little menthol there as well. Spreads out on the palate, black & red fruit, decent acidity - not bad for a Tuesday night.

Brick red color. Tar and leather on the nose, with a bit of resemblance to aged Rioja. Cherry, plum, cranberry, and pepper notes with high acidity and firm tannins.

Similar to previous bottles but now with a little more age. Red in the glass with some rust colored hues. Same flavor profile. Maybe a little more of a melted mid-palate texture. Fine Barbaresco. Drinking well. Extraordinary value.

Deep red and clear in the glass. Cherry, roses, cocoa, and some cloves/ cinnamon on the nose and palate. Plump and juicy on the mid palate with ample tannins. Long cherry, rose, cola finish. First rate Barbareco. 93-94.

Similar to previous two bottles. Deep red and clear in the glass with no bricking. Big, open nose, with raspberry, cocoa, roses, and faint vanilla. Same on the palate with cranberry and anise as well. Typical Barbaresco power and weightless structure. Dusty tannins and expansive, mouth-watering acidity. Long mouth-watering finish which echoes initial notes. All-in-all a very high quality Barbaresco and hard to beat at $30/750. (91-93)

PnP out of storage. On the dark end of the spectrum it is deep red to purple color with little fading at the edge and some translucence. Aromas of dark cherry, cranberry, mushroom, licorice or perhaps menthol(?), wet earth with some herbal notes. Very little volatile blow off. Same tastes with a bit more herbal notes, medium+ acidity and medium+/high- mouth drying tannin in the middle leaving a balanced impression of acid and tannin at the finish. Quite tasty within …

This is drinking very well. Beautiful clear dark red color. Some floral notes and cut grass nose. Sour cherries nicely integrated with the tannins. Long tart finish. Not transcendent but great qpr.

Dark red/maroon in the glass. Raspberry, blackberry, roses, and mint on the nose and palate. Focused, precise, and bright. Firm, gripping tannins. Uncomplicated, charming, and atypical Barbaresco. Glad I have five more of these. Compelling wine, at $30/750......

Popped and poured at a restaurant. They actually had appropriate glasses, we didn't expect that. A bit darker and more purple than typical Nebbiolo. Sweet nose of red fruit, a bit of spice. This has smoothed out considerably on the palate - nice complexity, plenty of fruit, nicely balanced. Medium/long finish. Restaurant specialized in Tuscan food, this worked wonderfully.

This has smoothed out considerably since the first bottle. Lovely, balanced Barbaresco, not overly complex, like its big brothers, the Rio Sordo Riservas, but a nice, food friendly bottle of juice.

Popped and poured. Probably too cool, it was at cellar temperature. Very nice nose of tart cherries and some spice. The palate is a bit tannic, I will wait a bit before opening another. There is plenty of fruit, but the tannins and acidity dominate at present.
