Two years after the prior — our third and last. We would never have guessed this as Beaujolais. And we can relate to one of the notes below, analogizing to a grenache blend. Very enjoyable over the course of a week, under Coravin Pivot.

Consistent notes - very good Gamay from the Queen herself.

The corkmonster struck on my only bottle of this. So annoying, as I could tell it was really nice under the cardboard mustiness :(

Consensus WOTN in a 6 bottle tasting. Very easy to drink with great mix of spice and pepper. Mistaken as a Grenache based wine. Who knew a Gamay from Burgundy and not Beaujolais

Wonderful Gamay from Lalou. Spices, depth, red and dark fruits. The Leroy touch. Big fan of these and even more a fan of the price

Wu's Wonton King - June 2024 - The night was hoppin (Wu's Wonton King) : lovely and what a great take on gamay. So perfumey, with violets and other floral elements and silky smooth finish

Mostly consistent with previous bottles. Aromatically challenged due to the glassware involved but overall, pops with those violet/floral notes and tart and juicy red fruit.

This was excellent. Quite elegant and refined. Good complexity for a Gamay. Excellent acidity. Some minerality. Very food friendly. One of the best Gamays I’ve had.

A very good Gamay. Rich and on the powerful side. Delicious.

Strawberry jam tea from the most aromatic and sweetest little artisanal wild strawberries. Carbonic if any is not obvious.

Consistent with previous bottle. Loaded with high toned red fruits and floral notes with a brightness to the fruit that is just really pretty. Touch of mineral driven savoriness on the finish. Love this wine.

Ojai Food + Wine Festival 2023; 10/26/2023-10/29/2023 (Ojai Valley Inn) : What a fun way to open up your palette for a Leroy tasting. Not your typical Gamay. Lovely wine.

Bright magenta, fresh cut roses and voilets on the nose. Sugar plums on the palate and well balanced tannins. Sure, drinking well now and probably not a wine that will last a decade but it is lovely drinking now. Tasty and moreish.

like other good beaujolais, a wine of freshness, quaffability, and approachable fruit without a lot of underlying structure. some serious strawberries tasted here and it was a lovely paring with Alexander the Great's Peking Duck. but nothing to chase after.

Drunk on a hot day in Rome in a beautiful room with little ac. Beautiful buttery blueberry crisp on the nose, we couldn’t stop smelling! Delicious and rich atmosphere in the bottle, immediately drinkable. Light effervescence, cinnamon or other sling spices from the get go, with red fruit and other rich treasures alongside. Maybe stewed/baked fruits, but definitely a fresh, vibrant quality throughout. Celery came to mind as well. Rich and a balanced savoriness without being so complex as to …

26 months after the prior: Medium ruby with a hint of blue. Elegant and harmonious — this is starting to develop quite beautifully. Lovely and lively acid backbone. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

So I love me some Cru Beaujolais and a local shop had some of my usual suspects....but then I saw something out of the corner of my eye. 'Leroy'. I'm not a big Burgundy guy but I'm obviously familiar with the producer. The conundrum was the price vs. Some of my other favorite producers. Was it worth literally double the price?? Screw it, let's give it a go! And while I fully expected to be a little disappointed.....I'm definitely not! …

This is perfectly enjoyable bojo but no where remotely close to far, far less expensive Cru Bojo. If you ignored the Leroy, there’s no way you’re enjoying this nearly as much as any number of other options. Save your money and pass on this.

Felt I didn't enjoy it as much as before - something about the finish was bitter.

Great stuff. Consistent notes. Deep, rich, red and dark fruits, nice spice some blueberry. Classic Cru bojo.

Decanted for around 30 minutes. Explosive red fruit and floral notes on the nose with ripe raspberry and cherry notes. Similar flavors on the palate with bright, juicy red fruits mixed with fresh florals and slightly earthy undertones. Medium+ acid and tannin gives a bit of grip in the mouth. Very happy to have a few more bottles of this because I think it will continue to get better but definitely delicious right now.

Nice mixed red and dark fruits. Simpler like gamay should be. Short finish. Great wine. Doesn’t have the peppery and stronger spice notes of other gamays I’ve had.

Felt like something was missing for me. Wouldn’t have placed this as Beaujolais, more tannic, has a bite, and fairly short. Maybe should have some more age on it. It was interesting but not my favorite.
