Leather, forest floor and dark berries on the nose. On the palate blackberries, smooth tannins and savory notes. This has gotten better with time.

A bit syrupy for my taste. It took an awfully long time (over a day) in the decanter before the savory notes started to come to the front. Probably best to wait on the 2013 and ‘14.

Horrible, bitter finish similar to cough syrup. Thought I perhaps had a bad bottle the first time but this is bottle 3 of 3 and I’m glad they’re gone.

Though the cork looked good, this was surprisingly mature at only 10 years, which is not really a complaint. It tasted like well-aged syrah, with loads of leather and tar, with some background blueberries and sandalwood. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and will be interested to see if my other two bottles have similarly developed.

Full body, strong tannin and dark fruits. Certainly needs more airing before it’s palatable. Needs equally strongly flavored meal to go with it. Will wait even more to try it again. 7.5/10

A Winebid find for $40. Rich black raspberry, smoked meats, tapenade and pepper. Drinking great now. With air it broadens and deepens. Excellent wine.

Super fresh and vibrant. Great acid and the nose won't stop. Lots of fruit and a hint of savory and pepper. Awesome wine 8 yrs later.

Outstanding! Wonderful fruit, lots of cherry, blackberry and I get a hint of tobacco. Outstanding finish. I'll let the others sit for another year.
