Buffalo Trace Stagg Jr. Batch 15 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 65.55%

Finished this bottle off making slushie bourbon cokes with black cherry. Not to worry, we drank the bulk of this bottle straight up. The last 10 ounces were used for the slushies, and it made beautiful slushy on a Friday night cocktail hour.

Color is a tawny brown. The nose on this is confectionary, classic bourbon notes of vanilla, caramel (but with a butterscotch profile), icing, hint of spice. The mouthfeel is medium viscosity, packs a spicy but balanced rye note upfront, followed by a wave of vanilla eclair and butterscotch. Don’t feel the high proof at all. Not a super complex profile but just darn pretty. A stellar pour.
