Weinfelderhof Spätburgunder "Barrique" QbA trocken

The grapes are sourced from Kröver Paradies vineyard, the wine is aged in new American oak barriques. Quite thin, pale raspberry red color. The nose is really striking: then the wine is left to sit in the glass, it smells mainly of sweet sawdust. When you swirl the glass, the wine gains complexity and starts to smell like vanilla, toffee, butterscotch, Bourbon, kirsch and cherry liqueur with an underlying hint of maraschino cherry.
