Guy de Forez Champagne Brut Réserve

Ripe mature notes of apple and strawberry. Easy on the palate with pleasant fizzles.

Nice balance. Has improved since last bottle 2 years ago.

Deep yellow. Little mousse. Strawberries and apple on the nose. Full, sweet, and dull. The high dosage clashes with tannic structure on the back end and doesn't make for a very pleasant finish.

popped at midnight NYE, had a taste of this one early in the month at the end of a long Champagne tasting at Arlequin and main faint impression then was that it was fruitily/sweet, this time found it quite rich, with rounded/ripe/berried flavors, the acidity is there but not forward in any way, easy to drink and though approachable, I much preferred in on day two, the bubbles soften, but the raw material of the structure underlying the fruit comes …

Rich pear, cinnamon, slate, full mouthfeel with moderate acidity.

Light yellow color with a slight tinge of peach peaking thru Nose fairly complex with white flowers, honeydew melon, sea spray, apples, and pears. Palate comes on strong with bright acidity, Granny Smith apples, pears, maybe lychee fruit? and a slight apricot note on the transition to finish. Notable for it's clean, fresh palate. Finish lingers for 20-40 seconds.
