Holding up really well. still some good, dark fruit albeit somewhat secondary. Smooth, well integrated tannins and a lovely perfume - drink up!

This is in prime drinking window. Wouldn't hold much longer.

Drinking great. Probably no rush, but no reason to wait (nor to worry that it has been too long).

Spot on. Will go years from here. Needs about an hour decant.

Drinking beautifully right now, offering that perfect balance between primary and secondary notes. Dark plums and blackberries joined by autumn leaves, charcoal and black licorice. Wonderfully integrated and likely in its sweet spot. So suggest drinking now to 2022. Would make a wonderful Thanksgiving wine IMHO. Outstanding.

What can I say but still drinking well. Nice full bodied flavor with licorice under control. Good drinking.

Drank at Suttons on Thanksgiving. May have been my favorite of the bottles I brought. Don't have specific notes, but still drinking well.

I was afraid this might be over the hill as it has been a couple of years since my last bottle, and was I pleasantly surprised!! Wow, what a beautiful wine! The nose is incredible with great complexity & beauty. It is smooth and balanced with velvet like feel on the palate. Long and complex with tannins present, but mostly resolved. It is in a great place right now. Glad I have one more. Good work Ojai!!

Very good bottle. Good nose, GREAT mouth, great length. Still a bit young, but heck, it's a 2004.

Found wine! Still great, still upside, still a bit fuzzy like. Good earthy fruit and length.

Wow. This was absolutely singing after a couple hours. Incredibly well balanced and not showing its age. Deep dark juicy fruit, blackberry, coffee, chocolate, with a few notes of smoke. this exhibited both power and finesse. Amazing wine, especially considering that I bought this online a year ago.

The wine is inky purple in the glass with a razor-thin, garnet halo and redolent with blackberry, black currant, smoked meat, tobacco, chocolate, and truffle aromas. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and extracted with the same blackberry, black currant, smoked meat, tobacco, chocolate and truffle as well as black pepper and Christmas spices. It has a lengthy, oak-infused finish. A perfect match for blue cheese or aged Gouda, pasta puttanesca or steak with a green peppercorn sauce. A …

Decanted ~1 1/2 hours, consumed over 2 hours. After a bloom of dark fruit aromas up-front, this became a little muted and never really fleshed out like I was hoping. Still, this had a nice structure to it, with dense but not showy blue/black fruit and a bit of a dusty, coffee-like character on the palate - possibly a bit of barrel influence? A nice long finish helps make up for some reticence on the nose and mid-palate and makes …

Magical. Lively, complex and young. Blueberries and lots of sweet blue fruits. I wish I had cases of this stuff. No end in sight.

Seems to have mellowed nicely. Blueberry, plum, leather, a little black pepper. seems a little more balance than the last bottle, the fruit is slightly less concentrated. Still delicious.

Yes! Really nice syrah that had balance and freshness. Deep fruit but not sweet or flabby. Good nose of fruit and earth. Spice with well rounded tannins. Lovely.

Wow! This bottle got better and better. I opened it up and had a glass one night, put it in the fridge and then Ali and I drank the rest the following night. Dark and syrupy but not in a bad way, maybe unctuous. It got better the longer we left it open. Glad I have many more bottles.

Who can argue? Excellent dark fruity nose, slightly tannic, slightly structured, big fruit mouth, and spicy, in-your-face length. Who knows if it'll keep, but who cares?

Doesn't seem to be budging at all. I would never guess this has 6 years on it. Still similar to my first bottle: Big nose of blueberry, raspberry, smoke, espresso, and black pepper. Full and rich, it could use a little more balance. To be sure, it's one of the most delicious wines I've had, but it's a little lacking in structure. Still an outstanding wine.

Another solid showing. This one didn't have the same funk as the last, but it a solid wine that's big but very elegant.
