Borgo Maragliano Giuseppe Galliano Brut

This is a Metodo Classico blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, disgorged in March of 2016, after extensive aging on the lees. The nose is clean, developed, with pronounced notes of toasted bread crust, toasted hazelnuts, yellow apple and lemon. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol (13%) and a nice minerality on the finish. Drink now. It was probably better on release. 88

Yellow with some copper. Toast and caramel on the nose. Full bodied, oxidative style, good minerality. I would not have picked this out as Chardonnay-based.
