Still a solid wine. Decanted about 45 minutes and drank over about 2 hours. Fruit flavors have become a little more dried, but the fruit is still there (cherry and some raisin, plum/prune) with some spice, vanilla, and oak.

Midweek Italian dinner night with friends. Decided to clear out some older bottles. This was the crowd favorite. Immediately accessible, but structure still intact. Rich black cherry fruit, velvety smooth with nice acid balance. No bricking, but this will only go backwards from here. Drink soon.

Drink now. Great aged super Tuscan, smelling of dusty antiques and dried figs. I'm sure this was more interesting a couple years ago, but not bad now.

Second excellent bottle in 5 weeks, nothing new to add. Both of these were drinking quite young, so brave souls with good storage can wait. Now-2025

Don't stand anywhere near my friends right now who will pass out (and land on you or break a hip) when I like an Italian wine. Smooth, almost buttery, texture with black fruit, mocha / espresso, spice and leather. Nice density, backbone and finish. Now-2026.

Rearranging the cellar and came across these bottles. I blew by the drink by rec. date. Opened while cooking. On opening tight and dry finishing tannins; worried it was done. After 30 minutes it began to show a juicy beginning, supple intense fruit in the middle framed by subtle tannins on the long finish and developed even more over the next two hours. Combined nicely with age. Fruit-forward California-style with Italian characteristics, such as a nice spicy finish. It may have gone a little flabby the longer the bottle was opened.

Intriguing scents of peach cobbler on the nose. There are jammy dark fruits on the palate, though the wine is definitely not a "fruit bomb." There is also some chocolate and spice on the long finish. A fantastic wine -- I wish we had more.

Wow. What an improvement time makes. An hour of open bottle did wonders. Two hours, much improved. Overnight? Wow! Now I'm getting cherry flavors. On open, the nose was nice and earthy. Don't trust the date suggestions is the moral. This should not have been drunk prior to 2016.

1st night good, but not yet a 90 pointer. Finished off next day at same time we opened a bottle of 2009 Stag's Leap Artemis. HUGE improvement overnight, Sister Moon was clearly the better of the two wines (with ribeye steak and baked potato).
