Great Older Wines at the Place to Drink Great Older Wines (Tampa, FL) : Very good color and fill. Started out seeming charming and delicate, wholly enjoyable but a wine to enjoy within 15-20 minutes. Unmistakably old Burgundy with the spice of its terroir and a subtle maderization from its age. Yet this wine mostly held up, fading slowly, over 2+ hours in glass.

Old Friends, Old Wine Weekend-Red Burgundy, Rioja, Barolo, and a Few Germans; 1/12/2018-1/14/2018 (Various Venues) : Light, translucent red without any browning. Aromas of sweet cherry and spice. Medium weight, very sappy. The depth and freshness of red fruit are miraculous for a wine that is almost 60 years old. Long finish with a bit of soil. Delicious. Best way to describe this. I was going to try and hold some but found myself draining this. Great color and nose here. Red fruit and Vosne spice was evident. Nice length and I suspect this could go on for years if you desire but why.

Aromatically nearly as enthralling as the Richebourg, with cinnamon and earth and black tea and raspberry/plummy fruit. Mostly resolved, still showing some spice and soft extract in the mouth, not dried out at all. Fully mature and on the way down but a wonderful drinking experience if you like that sort of thing, which I do.
