Brovia, Barolo, Garblet Sue

This opened up with air, but was very tight from the very beginning. The beautiful thing about Bravia wines is their elegance and their structure. This is too young to fully enjoy but it shows a lot of promise. I would wait at least five more years before opening the next bottle. Initially muted, a couple hours of airtime showed sense of tar roses and strawberry notes. Nice replays on the pallette with a medium long finish.

Klarröd. Fin syra och lena tanniner. Väldigt generös barolo. Blir nästan chockad över hur mycket aromer vinet lämnar ifrån sig där det är nu i sin utveckling. Röda körsbär, blommor - rosor och viol. Ganska kryddig mot slutet och totalt sätt både komplex och intensiv. Otroligt utmärkt. Bästa barolon på länge. Bra nu, men säker på att det har ett långt liv.

Crazy goood stuff. Opened for a few hour in the bottle. Loads of juicy/ripe red fruit, plum, mint, earth, and mineral. Medium to full bodied. Need to find more.

Young but delicious right from the start. Light coloration with pure yet intense amounts of fruit. Strawberry, red cherry, rose, mineral, mint and dusty earth. All the 2015 Brovia’s are really drink well now but clearly best in 10 years.

Very enjoyable, even this young. The nose is effusive with red fruit and florals. Palate shows dark plum, black cherry and notes of raspberry and strawberry cobbler, and with air, a light dusting of onion powder emerges on the nose. Lovely balance to the palate. Light+ nose with dark fruit, smokiness. Iron, dark plum, and more smoky burnt notes on the palate. Long finish, slight bitterness. Light tannins and good balance.

Brovia's 2015 Barolos (Dig Wines, San Francisco) : Similar pale color. More floral than the normale. Slight uptick in weight compared to that wine, but still delicate, perfumed, and dominated by tobacco rather than fruit. Lower acidity gives a more accessible feel.

With Alex Balsamic, rosewater, and cherry ludens on the nose. Very floral. More of the same on the palate with an undercurrent of cured meats. All of this with freshness and clarity.Very perfumed on palate. Finishing with firm tannins and balsam. Outstanding.

My last bottle was something of a mix between GRANTSKY's and SMAGOWAN's review: lovely tint of orange, classic mature Barolo flavors, great finish. But hovering over it all, powerful tannin that became more overbearing with each sip. I don't remember my previous bottles being out of balance like this one. Even so, the good aspects were enough to make in enjoyable.

My last of three bottles. Decanted through a screen for 90 minutes in wine room. This was really special. It was light brick red in color, almost transluscent at the edges. It had a port-like flavor without the heaviness and a hypnotizing nose of port, tarragon, dried leaves, rose petals and plum candy. 30 - 40 second finish in which the tastes moved through different dimensions. Exquisite. The coloring was brown to burnt orange and the nose hinted of licorice and faded dried cherries or a light hint of cherry may be a better way to say it. I decanted in the cellar for about an hour and the nose became much more flowery. This wine is just not in a good place at all. Little, to no, fruit at all. All none fruits and very rough in structure. Just not a pleasant wine. Been told the Brovia 2003's have been showing problems across their holdings. That being said, don't let this bottle or vintage discourage you; this is a fantastic Barolo producer. Hard to beat for the money.

Same as my last tasting. Approachable, classic nose, palate and finish, all with some still powerful tannins. Would be fun to taste again in 10 years but it is so good that I doubt I can wait.

This wine was showing great; needed lots of decanting and filtering for sediment removal. Showed mature fruit, a little more mature than should be showing for its age, but drank like a barolo twice its age (in a good way.) A very interesting celery characteristic to this vintage; I enjoyed it. I've heard others havent been as lucky with this wine as I have. Drink Now!

Well, I just don't know. I was looking forward to opening this bottle very much. It did not start out promising. First, there was some water in the bottom of my wine refrigerator, which has not happened before. Not a lot, but enough to notice. Lively garnet with amber edges. Nose of fruit and earth and the background, subdued, the proverbial tar & roses. Bright fruit, slight perfume, cedar and tar in the mouth, and a tannic finish that is a bit brutal, but stands up to food. Well structured, it should last several years.
