Fino. Elegante.

The 2021 VIK La Piu Belle has a noticeable peppery note, but it’s not overpowering. The spice adds a nice layer to the dark fruit flavors. Tannins are smooth, and the wine feels balanced overall. I gave it a 92, though that score reflects my personal bias. I tend not to favor peppery wines as much as others might.

Deep and inky, sweet and sour juicy juice on the nose along with a little tobacco and wood; slight hint of pencil shavings. Unexpected grassy/spring onion, stems and umami thing going on my palate with a boozy cooling on the finish. Complex and original.

Tasted this wine at 'The Magic of Millahue with the Chilean Visionary' dinner held at Origin Grill, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. The event was co-organised by Vinicole Asia and 1855 The Bottle Shop and hosted by Ms Caroline Fanet, Export Manager (Europe & Asia) from the Winery. This wine was paired with the Blackmore Bolar Blade MB9+. Dark purple in colour. Powerful oak and cedar on the nose. Rich ripe berries, with cigar toast. On the palate the chewy tannins presents …

A lush style verging on over-ripeness but held in check with good structure and balance. Blueberries on the nose with rich, ripe fruit and much to enjoy.

This was the first of their artist label series wines. The label was designed by Chilean artist Gonzalo Cienfuegos. 76% Carmenere, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. 20 months in French oak barrels (15% of the oak was toasted from branches of oak trees found on the property). This can cost up to $80-100, but I found it on sale for around $50. Dark almost opaque color. The nose is shy with a savory, herbal side. However, the palate is …

Sample in advance of release inky purple red color, nose of cassis, dark chocolate, coffee beans and a hint of licorice, on the palate fine depth, broad ripe primary fruit still defining itself, sweet venison note with time, incredibly long finish where mineral and chalk notes appear, it will be some time before this is released and so it is understandably still sorting itself out- but the raw materials here are quite good and already this is showing signs it …

Second time drinking La Piu Belle, last bottle was the 2015 vintage. 2 hour decant tonight. Nose: Dried dusty earth, violets, forest berries, pomegranate, leather, vanilla pod, just the right amount of bell pepper. Palate: Opulent, juicy fruits, ripe crushed cherries, plum, waxy licorice, cigar box, dusty tar. The acid is high but the fruit and sweetness keep it in check. Tannins very integrated and silky but I am sure some more bottle age will add tertiary complexity and tame …

Agree with other posters that this wine benefits from decanting. We did about an hour and it even opened up more in the glass. It's young and bold with dark fruit, leather and cigar ash that mellows to more red fruit and earthiness as the night goes on. Would be great with hearty meat dishes or stews.

Deep purple-ruby colored in the glass. The nose has aromas of bell pepper, cassis, blackberry, black plum, spices, coffee, caramel and vanilla. The palate is dry with medium acidity and super fine medium tannins. Intense flavors of black fruit, especially cassis along with vanilla and spices combine with the coffee and caramel notes I got on the nose. It's a full-bodied delight that has a long finish that tends towards blueberry and plum and has a persistent tannic grip, albeit …

A blend of 51% CS, 41% Carmenere and 8% Syrah, aged for 24 months in used FR oak barrels. Opaque ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of blackberries, earth, eucalyptus, vanilla, forrest berries, oaky incense hints. Medium+ body, elegant and round structure with medium level acidity, lush black fruit flavours with a touch of chocolate, powdery smooth tannins, spiced medium length finish.

A beautiful deep ruby with lots of concentration and makes you wanna immediately take a gulp Waft of fragrance just hits your face as you stick your nose in. Some lush ripened black currants that has green pepper and spice in there with some oakiness. On palate it has nice weight and structured acidity that just mellow out beautifully over an hour or so as you enjoy your meal. My gosh it has long finish. Excellent stuff. Can enjoy it …

Just delicious. PB can have an almost Pomerol lush profile and this vintage really has it. Nice acidic black currant and Seville orange make for a spine. The treatment notes integrate nicely and there is a vibrancy that lifts. Ends up with baked cherries, bitter caramels and raw grape spirit in a natural way. Silky textures. A slight nervosity. Modern to be sure and will be over the edge in that regard, but I find it a great expression.
