Lava Vine Syrah Knights Valley

Good, but flat. Might be too old.

I loved the fresh grapey nose of this wine. Almost like grape jelly. The color was inky dark. There also were aromas of brown Asian spice with some of the other dark fruits. I was a little disappointed when the wine hit the palate. I think I caught the flavor of a re cut re toasted barrel. This is not all bad, but it tried to ruin the purity of the fruit. Smokey, bramble berries and dark tree fruit. Nice subtle oak application.

Fantastic Syrah!! OMG it is good! Definitely a top Syrah.
