Past peak. PnP. No more red fruits nor chocolate, just forest floor on the tongue. Some cherries and mint on the nose. Had it at home Sep 20 2025 at home with parents.

This wine is a stunner. If you’re contemplating holding it or drinking it. I would suggest drinking it for maximum flavor and magic. And holding a couple bottles for another year or three or five just to watch it evolve. -t

A beautifully developed wine displaying prominent tertiary flavors of mushrooms, graphite, and minerals. The acidity and tannins are perfectly balanced, lending freshness and vibrancy despite its age. An elegant and enjoyable bottle, especially when paired with Coq au Vin, goat cheese, and crackers. A delightful experience from start to finish.

Very smooth and mellow. Some dark fruit blended in with a subtle chocolate aspect. Tannins are there but I needed to swirl it around in my mouth to notice them. Perhaps lacking a bit of complexity, but overall a nice wine

Kork ut i god forfatning. Lukter mørke bør, solbær. Relativ kraftig på lukt. Kraftig, velbalansert, mørke bær med tydelig alderspreg. Bløt og fyldig. Relativ lang. Lite tanniner. Meget god vin, med god alderspreg.

Decanted for 1.5 hours. To begin with, there was an intense smoke aroma, which after time gave way to coffee, earthy, pencil shavings, and mushrooms. Some black fruit (cassis), but the tertiary notes were dominant. Silky smooth tannins with medium acidity. Overall a balanced wine, and a good length. Really lovely drop.

Medium ruby. On the nose medium intensity aromas of black pepper, blackberry, toast, tobacco, pyrazines, graphite, bramble, blackcurrants. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity and medium plus fine tannins, medium plus body and medium intensity flavors of black pepper, blackberry, toast, tobacco, pyrazines, graphite, bramble, blackcurrants. Finish is medium. The wine is balanced and has some complexity but feels a bit thin midpalate.

Found this to be quite approachable on day 1. Day 2 saw more earth and leather and a little less friendly. My bride said it was drinkable and better on day 1, too. Quite good, best Bordeaux I've had in some time (and I don't normally buy more expensive). Takes a good hour or three for the rubber odours to blow off, and the fruit to emerge uncloaked, but it comes along with a herby savoury garrigue, cedar that goes up your nose, and pronounced tannins that dry you out for the next sip. Very tasty. If missing anything, perhaps acidity, it's a little flat. On the other hand it's quite smooth.

starting to redden at rim… moderately expressive nose… lots of ripe merlot… dark fruits, plums, stewed tomatoes, background barrique notes… high acids, fleshy, very ripe but firm tannins… wine has some hard edges on the palate… drink now with food to smooth out those rough edges… time will help rough edges but i think the wine’s fruit will get muddied. very good wine that is at it’s peak IMO

Started off a little slow but two hours in and it was on top of its game. Black cherry, smoke, and hints of eucalyptus and menthol on the nose. Earthy, leathery, and dark fruit flavored, lots of freshness, with ripeness, density, and concentration. Picks up currants on the long and savory finale. Good wine.

Weekly tasting group RWP #258: Bordeaux 2000 (@ VD) : Beautiful and developed bouquet with red and dark berries, sweet spices, vanilla and forest. On the palate dark and red berries, cassis, good acidity and soft tannin. Beautiful oak and ready for drinking now. Nice wine.

This bottle was better. I can tell quite of a number of 2009 Ht.-Médocs that show a lot better in this moment, but compared to how much I had been disappointe when tasting the first bottle in the case, at least there's some to hope for the best.

Medium to light bodied. Earth dark fruits show on a slightly hollow palate lacking any meaningful grip or concentration. The noticeable bitter, and herbal finish completes a pretty grim package. Bought against my better judgment at K&L. At $15.99 represents average to poor OPR and IMO best avoided like the vast majority of 2007's.

I really like the forthright ripeness of this wine with a fresh tea-leaf, smokey nose and adequately fresh palate.

A traditional Bourdeaux, seemed a bit thin and sour on first uncorking. As it opened up, there was more complexity, and it was delicious with a nice rare lamb chop. A nicely aged bottle at this point, very harmonious, still showing some of the fruit it started with.

Exzellent. Leider die letzte Flasche, nachdem ich den Wein die letzten Jahre etwas schwach fand, war diese Flasche richtig Klasse. Hatte noch schöne Frucht und angenehm präsente Tanine. Keine unangennehmen Alterserscheinung in Farbe, Duft oder Geschmack. Hätte man wohl noch länger aufheben können. Den gleichen Wein in 2009 getrunken empfand ich ein wenig säuerlich, mit matter Frucht und zu schwachem Körper. Jetzt wirkt der Wein viel ausbalancierter.
