Nose oscillating between citrus and jasmine. Palate with fine and elegant woodiness, which coats a juice with well-cut acidity. Difficult to say that it is a 21-year-old Puligny as the freshness is present. Aromas of juicy citrus and jasmine. Finale all in freshness, sapid and pleasant on a good length. Very good Puligny.

Rich green and yellow apple aromas and flavors with good concentration. Alas I buried this too far deep in my cellar, and this is getting tired. While I enjoyed it tonight, it's not close to the enjoyment it provided closer to release.

A bit pale and subdued, but pleasant. I didn't taste the oak as described by others, but an orange flavor that pared very well with scallops and veal.

Tastes like oak. and a little lemon. with more oak. OK acidity with a hint of Acacia honey. from an oak spoon. HRH kept winking and saying, "this Kistler is pretty good." I agree. except for the oak.

Caillerets Shoot-out: Puligny vs. Chassagne - Part 1 of L2O Dinner (L2O - Chicago IL) : Tasted single blind. A big disappointment vs. last time I tried this wine a year ago. Mild floral aromatics along with apple and pear on the nose. Flavors of apple and lemon, moderate finish, didn't show the same energy and acidity I remember from before.

Wineflock - Chardonnay Shootout (My house) : Group #10, My #9 - A dissapointing showing for this wine - I thought it would be a white burg that could show in the company but alas... Pale yellow color. Bright nose of citrus and lemon pledge. Nice liquid mineral on the palate with a hint of spice on the finish and some oak notes. Context counts I guess.

Chardonnay Shootout (Hughes House - Chicago IL) : Blind Chardonnay tasting. Very impressive from first sniff. Clearly a Burgundy from a recent classic vintage, this showed great minerality and lots of energy. Flavors were more lemon and orange than the crowd pleasing peach and apricot. Great start and middle, I'd have liked a slightly longer finish. No surprise my #3 wine tonight, group of more New World palates ranked it #10.

Dinner at Schwa (Schwa) : Another strong showing for this wine. Still youthful, it shows tons of mineral on the nose and palate with a long focused finish. Very nice.

An unexpectedly stunning wine with great rich tropical fruit (a la Corton Charlie) but with the mineral and backbone of puligny.
