If you've never tried an Arroyo port / fortified-wine, give this one a try. Love how this comes together, dominant fruit (Petite Sirah), delicious, and long.

Finally the vintage is starting to strut it's stuff! Inky black in color, lots of dark, dark fruit on the nose and palate with nice vanilla added and ample tannins and all in nice balance.

Zachys Holiday Auction - Winter 2015 (Smith & Wollensky (48th & 3rd Ave)) : There was a very distinct taste of Christmas seasoning towards the back palette of this. I can see the appeal here, but not sure it was quite my wine - felt a bit more cloying than I would have liked. Very intense port.

Not sure what's happening, but Vincent's recent ports seem 'thinner' than in the past. Ports should have some 'umpf' behind them without being 'hot' or over-alcoholed. As I said, they just seem to lack the power they once did, and yet were in balance. Still looks great in the glass, though.
