Excellent Rhone blend; deep ruby color, full bodied with plenty of fruit and a slight peppery finish. Drink now but will definitely hold up for a couple of years.

Wine definitely needs to open to be fully appreciated. A bit too fruit forward for my tastes, but enjoyable. Ready to drink now.

A: deep ruby N: blueberry, blackberry, ripe strawberry, loads of spice - cinnamon, clove, Mediterranean scrub - earth, smoke. P: dry (maybe a 3-4 g/RS), med (+) acidity, med (+) fine, chalky tannins, full body C: outstanding = balanced ripe fruit with bright acidity, pronounced complexity, pronounced intensity, med (+) concentration, long finish. Drink now or hold for 10 years. For me - this is a more clean expression of CDP - clear, precise, no funk, absolutely lovely.

Pnp at CLR. Quite good but not really my thing. Mostly Rhône blend with 5% Graciano. 14.6%

A little hard to get excited about this wine. Great color but unremarkable flavors. This wine did improve after being open for a while. Consider decanting to improve the drinking experience

Paso Robles Winery Visits; 8/30/2023-9/1/2023 : Clear purple/ruby. Wintergreen scents. Medium weight. Stony dark red fruit, high acidity, and moderate tannin. Elegant weight but neutral flavors that really don't excite. Despite having 33% whole cluster, it is hard to discern.

Fun drinking now. Can definitely age a bit more, though. Fresh cut grass, pineapple and mango on the nose after oxygen depriving for a few minutes. Don't know what to think there... otherwise, cedar and berries. Berries and, ok, pomegranate, with a mineral backbone on the palate. Nice long finish into ethereal bliss. Sure, two ways to look at that, but you decide.

From the winery: 45% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 18% Syrah, 12% Carignan, 5% Graciano. The 2020 Ditch Digger opens with a bouquet of alpine flowers, followed by notes of raspberry, cocoa powder, and cracked black pepper. Densely packed layers of strawberry, pomegranate, coriander, and Hungarian paprika melt into supple tannins. A striking mineral note drives the lingering finish all the way across the palate..
