Stanton Vineyards Pinot Noir

Pretty much the same as a year ago. I gave this one 87 and my wife 85, hence the rating above. Red fruit and some spice/ mineral/ stone notes. Still a little "hard" on the backside. Reasonable QPR for $18. Oregon doesn't make m(any?) decent PN's <$20.

This is a SMALL producer/vineyard owner (and friend) in the Southern Willamette Valley whose wine is made up at Boedecker in the north. This wine has a light (-er than the 2008) garnet color. The nose is cherry cough syrup and earth. On the palate: cherry pie, rasberry, stone, and a little spice. Medium depth and concentration, but it has a mild bitter edge in the finish bringing me right back to "medicine". It was ok after a night w/o …
