It has all parts in place, however, this is but a shadow of what a Bordeaux should be in a great vintage like 2016.

This is on the decline. Muted and turning sour. Not a pleasant wine anymore.

Not much on the nose. At all. Pretty Brett. Not much else. I’d say there’s a 70% this was corked, but it’s hard to say for sure. It’s right on the cusp.

High in VA, not enough to truly call it flawed but enough to withhold any true judgment. Still an enjoyable bottle, but considering it was framed within a tasting lineup, it didn’t hold up properly.

Ready to go now with some air. Dark fruit and floral, graphite on the nose. Palate is classic margaux. Elegant red and dark red fruits, refreshing acidity, elegant florals, leathery earth. Finish shows purple fruited minerality and earthy terroir. Really nice with solid complexity, a strong 90-91, drinks great now.

Last night, I cracked it open again—no ceremony, just pour and savor before the moment slips away. This wine, familiar yet elusive, wrapped me in blueberries and black licorice, thick and velvety, like midnight oil. The oak whispers of past glory, fading at the edges but still present, holding on for now. It’s a beauty I keep thinking won’t last, but here it stands, stubborn and seductive. Drink it quick, before it’s gone—another memory in the making, another love to …

Last night, I opened another bottle. No fuss. Just pour and drink fast—before it’s gone, before it’s just a memory. Paired with filet & sauce au poivre. Blueberries, licorice. Thick and smooth, like oil. The oak fades away. I usually drink 2nd wines within 10years, but this is holding but not sure for how long. Better take it now.

I was sweating it, thinking this was the second wine of a great producer’s wine, and soon it’d be shot usually within 10-15yrs tops—vanished like all the other great things. But no. It lingered. PNP, and it’s ready to be chugged—no hesitation. Drink it down, quick—before time steals it away, before it’s just a memory. Who knows if it’ll last another year, another night. Blueberries and licorice, smooth tannins sliding as smooth as a lie, inky, thick viscosity like oil …

from a .375, perhaps not worth the price tag but overall, this is still quite nice. impressive bouquet… floral, mineral, dark fruited, earthy. palate texture is a little watered down and lacks depth, but the flavour profile is decent, mineral-driven, some dark berry fruit in behind, tannins show themselves on the mildly bitter finish.

The 2016 Blason d'Issan Margaux presents with the expected structure of a red Bordeaux—acidic, tannic, and notably sharp from the outset. This intensity remains undiminished even after a significant decanting period. Its earthy tones persist from start to finish, offering a consistent but unyielding profile. While the wine does pair adequately with robust foods such as burgers and fries, providing a counterbalance to their richness, it does not evolve substantially in the glass. Given its price point and the qualities …

I like this, but not sure it’s worth the price. There are some grand vins in Bordeaux at the same price point that can fare much better—especially on the Right Bank. Funky Bretty nose. Burnt rubber, dark chocolate. Palate shows some age, complex red fruit with a clipped finish.

Silkkiset tanniinit.

Black fruit notes. Not very tannic. Think this is ready to drink now. Not enough tannins to justify holding on for a long time. A bit of a classic Margaux, in that it starts off bold, but then disappears. Had it with steaks and I enjoyed it. The Mrs thought that it was short on the palette and no grip.

Classic bordeaux nose, very tight out of the bottle. Decanted for 2 hours before the meal.--- filet w a horseradish cream reduction. It was mediocre 89-90 on day 1. Opened up well and was pleasantly softer on day 2. The nose was still tight and slightly tannic on day 2, but cherry tobacco and casis aroma were balanced...day 2 score was a pleasant 92-93.... I would let it age or decant for 1 day for the best results.. salmon with …

Bjørnebær, bringebær, eik, pepper, tobakk, vanilje. Trenger kjøtt og fett for å knekke taninene, burde nok ventet 5-8 år med denne.

Honestly really disappointed here. Writing from memory. 1.5hr decant. Interesting nose with deep black fruit, oak, some funk. But the palate was just a disappointment, really superficial fruit that was short to last with unbalanced high acidity and medium - tannin. Medium - body here. Just didn't have much of any flavor on the palate and really was not enjoyable, especially at the price. Makes me worry about their first wine, will be wary to spend 100+ on it. Update: …

Marvelous offering here! PnP. Textbook Margaux. Excellent structure, medium to full bodied, already showing nice bottle aging. Well made wine indeed. As mentioned previously in notes, the cigar box and classic nose are apparent - the usual Margaux accents highlighted by succulent dark fruits are here on full display! Great QPR! 2018 is a bit fuller and juicer, but by no means does it make this one any less of a wine, just vintage variation at this stage - both …

Kirsebær, moreller, bringebær, litt fat med god frukt i nesa. Kirsebær, bringebær, rips, litt fat og runde tanniner i munnen. God frukt, men litt tidlig avslutning. God til nakkekoteletter og god i glasset.

Dark reddish purple. Aromatic nose of subtle red and blue fruit with faint Oakville mint. Structure and weight all 08. Again, like 04 and maybe 06? At least more restrained than the 05, o9. Only one wine, I know.Second label of Issan. Chunky texture with lingering earthy flavors that last. Could develop and I would buy a few more at the right price- a real rib-eye sort. Long at the end. A JH style from what I have read. JM

Dark garnet in the glass, dark earthy fruit on the nose, but not highly expressive yet. Tastes young, with lively acidity, tannins very in check, light earth, leather, coffee, over dark cherry fruit. Some iron on the finish. Good, but I would let evolve for a while.
