This bottle had a bit of alcoholic bitterness that previous bottles of same vintage I had did not. Perhaps bottle variation, or it does not age well?

This is my #5 Planeta. Why does it have this name with #? The history of Etna is dotted with eruptions that have shaped its shape. Legendary is that of 1614, which lasted 10 years, the longest in historical times: the vineyards that produce this wine grow right on this casting. If I blindly tested this wine, I would 100% say it is PN. First of all - a very bright ruby color. The smell is cherry, strawberry and minerals. …

Very disappointing... especially given the crazy price Naftaly Drinks charge for it... as far as I am concerned... the worst wine store in Israel ! Unique color, light clear red color... do not recall a similar one. Medium minus body. High acidity. Medium plus tanines. Not too smooth. Rough. Not very enjoyable. Mildly aromatic, first red fruits then barrels and spices. Same mixture on the palate, pomegranate, raspberries, cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate, pepper, licorice. Nothing to write home. Really bad …

Medium(-) ruby, fully translucent, vibrant. Medium (-) aromas of preserved cherry, wood, leaves. Dry, high acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol and medium body. Fruit-driven palate of cherry, cherry pie, tart red berry, butterscotch, spice. Pleasant uplifting mouthfeel. Racy finish with balancing tannins,.tart acidity and fruit. More substance and presence than many entry-level Etna Rossos. 89-90

100% Nerello Mascalese. Medium red. Very high acid. Cherry, red plum, flinty minerals and a touch of leather(?). Medium bodied. Tasted at the estate.

Light ruby in the glass. Bright red berry fruit on the nose, pretty straightforward. Palate has really good fruit concentration but stays lightweight throughout. High acidity highlighting the fruit even more. Proper terroir expression, has that volcanic mineral touch to it. Long, savoury finish. Drink now, but will keep for a decade+.
