Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 100% Primitivo from the Gioia del Colle area. Med (+) ruby with a garnet hue. Med (+) nose of black cherry, strawberry, herbs (sage), tomato leaf. It is not aged in oak, but has a nice vanilla and cinnamon note. Dry, with med (+) acidity, med to med (+), resolved tannins and med (+) alcohol (14%) (not hot). They were with a co-operative, now they are not. Earthy closet fruit. Rounded on the mid palate with a bit of tightness on the back. Not to my liking but I can certainly understand why some might enjoy.
