Following a bottle of Ogier 12 Côte-Rôtie Le Village. Dark ruby robe (but not inky purple). Nose is inscrutable on opening, more black olive, asphalt garrigue than boasting fruit aromas. Half an hour in the decanter, plummy fruit, black currant, and spice begin to emerge. But at the core, there’s a fine earthy character that grounds things. Drank last nite at our firm xmas party. Young and vibrant, sexy and fruit forward. Lots of cherries, also showing some spiciness. Good acidity level and decent length. The wine is young but approachable.

Popped and poured; accesible as the vintage, but the domaine speaks also - garrigue, local feel, and even a vibrant acidity here. Comes around as maybe a bit slim, even green at the moment, will probably gain weight - normally, you have to wait for these wines. 90+

Not much going on with this wine. Restrained, one-dimensional fruit, nessun profumo. Not bad, but not great either. Closed?

Trop jeune. Le vin à tout pour devenir très beau, l'équilibre est là malgré une petite chaleur en fin de bouche, la structure tannique est déjà intégrée. Le vin manque aujourd'hui malheureusement d'expression aromatique mais ne présente aucun défaut. Aucune sensation d'élevage. Un vin à attendre, beaucoup de potentiel.
