100% Zweigelt aged in new French oak barriques. Bottled after 18 months of oak aging. 9,0% alcohol, 257,5 g/l residual sugar and 9,3 g/l acidity. Very deep, dark and fully opaque blackish-brown color. The nose feels sweet, fragrant and quite distinctive with lush aromas of plum jam and raisins, some cherry marmalade, a little bit of blueberry juice, light volatile notes of balsamico, a hint of honeyed character and a touch of sweet oak spice. Tawny; the color and legs of light molasses. Spice and some red fruit on the nose, with some plummy/pruny notes that are also evident on the palate. Plenty of botrytis and quince. Full bodied, very sweet, but not as cloying as I expected.

Almost a tawny port brown color. The nose is much brighter than the color would suggest with typical botrytis aromas as well as red berries. Very sweet on the palate but a good streak of balance keeps it all together.

Typical TBA nose with a palate that contains hints of red fruit, possibly raspberry. Great change of pace for a TBA, not as dense as most.

This was served at the end of the evening last Thursday at Haggis' house. Sweet and ripe with berry and mamey sapote notes. Not as concentrated or as deep as the TBA's made from Welschrieslings and Chardonnays but a good value for the sub $20 price tag on sale. 90 points.
