Liked this 2nd bottle a bit more than the first, perhaps due to additional 1.5 yrs of age or maybe just bottle variation. Or maybe I was just more in the mood for a really ripe, deep wine. This had a nice heavy dose of garrigue and cedar, with that dense, ripe and slightly sweet dark fruit underlying. Soft and medium length finish.

Cured meat, mocha, smoked herbs with some dried raspberry. Vibrant acidity keeps it lively. Not much upside here. Where it should be right now. It'll hang in here for the next 3-4 years w/o losing much. Pretty impressed for this producer. I'm glad that even modern producers can't get rid of the savory characteristics in Gigondas and Vacqueyras. Except for maybe Louis Bernard... don't even get me started on LB.

Surprisingly good and balanced, authentic even; I am not usually a fan of this producer,. but this shows lightness and some elegance along with a solid, healthy fruit and - yes - garrigue ... will live without effort 5+ years, but is drinking nicely now, if you like 'em young. Very elegant. Lovely floral aromas lead to an aristocratic palate, forceful and balanced at the same time. The dominant flavors are raspberry and rooibos (my daughter's favorite tea, and apparently Jimmy Molesworth's too, judging from his tasting notes), with plenty of earthy secondary notes to add interest. The tannins are still strong, and the acidity is tangy, which leads me to think this will still be drinking well in five years. The wine opened nicely after an hour or so …

Came here looking for garrigue, but came up short. Good sweetness, and lots of alcohol, with a crisp, dry, long, berry finish. Has a bit of bitterness at the back end that may improve with time.

Great nose but the alcohol is a little too obvious for my tastes and therefore somewhat detracts from what could be a very enjoyable wine. Shame, I was hoping for more from this producer.

One of my fave producers, this doesn't disappoint but it's not for everyone, as it's quite new worldly huge, but it's not bombastic at all and it is simply delicious - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, cherry, spice, lavender and vanilla, very well structured and balanced despite 15% alc., fruit forward yet complex, sweet, smooth as silk on the palate with outstanding length, awesome! (91 points).

BBQ Brisket with Big Reds (Siggy & Jenny's Place, Mpls, MN) : 60% G, 20% S, 10% M, 10% C. Yet another young wine, this showed nicely, and has lots character, roasted meat, dried herbs, cassis, dark fruits, medium-full body. Give this another 2 years. 90pts(+).

Made from 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault. Drinkable now. Medium bodied but not overbearing. Full fruited. Lacks some finesse and delicacy. But decent QPR and thereby bought more, for day to day consumption. Will be even better in 5 years, as the fruit will mellow and gain complexity. But insufficient tannin for longer aging.

Terrific wine from start to finish. Nice dark berry nose, great upfront flavor that ends with a medium-long finish. Nicely balanced, drinking nicely, no food necessary. Friends gave us a bottle-- terrific gift!

After 20 minutes in the glass, this baby opens up to reveal loads of smoked meat, raspberry, and fresh baked baguette. The 15% shows unnecessary heft on the palate, with black raspberry and a skosh of bacon. Vanilla sails in on the finish; maybe a tad more oaked than I'd like. More new-world than expected, and somewhat heavy-handed, but a hedonistic pleasure all the same.

Inky purple color. Nose of earth, licorice, garrique. Palate has noticeable alcohol, plums and other dark fruits. Finishes with licorice, some sweetness. A very full bodied wine, but very good at this price point

15% alcohol. Nose: mocha, raspberries Palate: the alcohol was apparent but not obtrusive. tart, blackberries, mocha, coriander, smooth, went well with eggplant dish. I loved it. It was not so good the 2nd day.

Just as beautiful as when tasted last time. A very nice wine which delivers tons of the clasacial Vacqueryras tone joined together in a balanced but not yet integrated palate. Tonight the tannins were quite eloquent and the fruit more forward compared to the last tasting. At about 15€ this is a smoking value which should not be missed if you come across a bottle - or two.

The 2010 Vacqueyras Grande Garrigue provides a lot of justice to its name. The nose is dense and brooding and provides a lovely perfume of black pepper, thyme, sage and an abundance of the very typical garrigue. The palate is full-bodied with a rather short length on the finish. Otherwise the wine gives an integrated and balanced impression. Certainly worth trying out. My first 2009 Rhone. Impressive, great QPR. Obviously young and aggressive but has everything it needs to make for a great Vacq. Very solid core that acts as great framework, perfect fruit ripeness. Seems to have good internal balance at this stage. Must get more. 91+

Love this producer! and have had a few really great Alain Jaume wines of late that I'll be buying much more - Dark, full bodied with a nose of kirsch, plum, cherry, raspberry and vanilla, very well structured, huge, intense with a bit of heat at the moment, sweet, sour, smooth on the palate with excellent length, well done! (91 Points).

Deep purple with some beet red at the edges. Full bodied. No alcohol burn (14.5%) on the nose or tongue. Inexpressive nose; some jammy fruit; does open a little more with time. Real punch to the palate, lots of jam and tannins. A little shy on the acidity at first, but it appears with time. The major drawback is that it lacks complexity; but it is nonetheless delicious. Nice long finish. As good as a lot of CdP's I've tried …
