Classic rich, high RS “dry” style, pie filling, jammy dried fruit. Nice aged example, still drinking well.

This is drinking exceptionally well and not even close to being past it's drink by date. It has the stuffings to carry it another 10+ years easy. No signs of aging, well integrated, not overly sweet, plenty of fruit, well balanced. I gave it an extra point for it's exceptional aging potential.

Wow. Very good well past it's drink by date. This was a great Zin. There was some sediment but not much. Peppery, deep berry. Excellent wine.

This bottle is so much more well integrated and balanced than the prior one (see note on 3/27/08). Similar flavor profile with great dark fruits, woodsy spice and leather, but the finish is cleaner and not showing nearly as much heat. Paired extremely well with chili (seriously)

Clear dark ruby, almost purple, in the glass. Cedar spice, cigar box, blackberry, plum & leather aromas. Blackberry jam & sweet spice on the palate. Good tannin structure & solid acidity creates a nice mouthfeel initially, but there's a disappointing hot finish.

Napa visit; 1/18/2008-1/20/2008 (Napa Valley, California) : On the nose, a woodsy, blackberry jam... on the palate, notes of pine forest, blackberries, and licorice. Tongue-thickening tannins made this the least favorite of the Kuleto wines for me, but the structure was very good.

a little tight but some airing out helped a lot. distinct leather and tobacco on the nose, lovely tannins with a nice structure. very much enjoyed this.
